00:00The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council or NDRRMC
00:05encouraged local government units to utilize the Department of Environment and Natural Resources
00:11Mines and Geosciences Bureau Geohazard Map to reduce disaster risk.
00:16During a Malacanang press briefing, NDRRMC Under-Secretary Ariel Nepomuceno noted
00:23that the map could assist LGUs in identifying areas where pre-emptive and mandatory evacuation
00:30should be implemented. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visited areas heavily impacted
00:36by the recent typhoons, including Barangay Sampaloc and Talisay, Batangas, referred to
00:42as Ground Zero, where a landslide claimed at least 20 lives. In addition to data from MGB,
00:50USEC Nepomuceno said they are incorporating information from various government agencies
00:57such as PHIVOX as well as international sources.
