00:00The AFP-Western Command is investigating the Chinese Coast Guard's blockade against the Filipino fishermen who are heading to Eskoda or Sabina Shoal.

00:09Even if they are in China, this is part of their territory.

00:18These fishermen are from Quezon, Palawan when they were blocked by the Chinese Coast Guard while heading to Eskoda or Sabina Shoal.

00:27According to one of the fishermen, on the early day of October 12, 30 miles from Eskoda, they saw the big ship of the CCG.

00:36That's when their fishing boat was blocked.

00:49Around 5 in the morning, the two speedboats of the CCG got off.

00:57That's why their fishing boat was blocked in Eskoda Shoal.

01:11Sabina or Eskoda Shoal is inside the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines because it is only 140 kilometers away from Palawan.

01:21The Philippine Coast Guard tried to guard it by placing BRP Teresa Magbanwa to patrol.

01:30But in September, it was pulled out because of the condition of its crew, lack of food, and bad weather.

01:38The AFP-Western Command is investigating what happened.

01:42Their gate. They have been guarding the West Philippine Sea for 24 hours.

01:47According to the Chinese Embassy, Eskoda Shoal or they call it Xiangbingjiao is a part of their Nansha Kundao or Spratly Islands that they claim.

01:59Just recently, China imposed two new law.

02:04First is the Maritime Zones Law that establishes the territory of the Philippines,

02:08followed by the 2016 Arbitral Award and the Archipelagic Sea Lanes Law that establishes three sea lanes where all ships and airplanes of other countries can pass.

02:21China also imposed the baseline of their territorial sea around Huangyan Dao that they call Bajo de Macinloc or Scarborough Shoal.

02:32They also issued their baselines. Their press statement is not specific.

02:37It is not like our law that is very clear.

02:40There is no reason for China to protest because what is included in the Maritime Zones Law is what is included in the International Law.
