(Adnkronos) - L’università degli studi di Milano Bicocca ha inaugurato l’anno accademico 2024-2025 nell’Aula Magna, dove si è tenuta anche la Lectio Magistralis del professor Carlos Moreno, ideatore del concetto di “città in 15 minuti”. In questa occasione si è svolto inoltre il taglio del nastro inaugurale della rinnovata Piazza della Scienza dell’Ateneo, un progetto di rigenerazione urbana innovativa. Presenti anche il presidente di Regione Lombardia Attilio Fontana e il sindaco di Milano Giuseppe Sala.

00:43The change derives from making economic growth sustainable and meaningful through the two
00:50engines that the university can really harness, namely the formation of human capital on the
00:55one hand and technological innovation on the other.
00:57And here there is everything, because if you look at the dozens of young researchers, many
01:02PNRRs are PhD students, appointed researchers, really wonderful young guys who have passionately
01:10considered this their laboratory.
01:12So my appeal, which I am sure will be listened to well, is to really invest
01:19in the Athens, invest in the young and also guarantee to the more than 12,000 young PNRR
01:25researchers a future, not outside our country, but within our country.
01:30The President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, is also present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony,
01:34in addition to the urban regeneration advisor of the Municipality of Milan Giancarlo Tancredi.
01:38It is not, as it has been well explained by Professor Iannantuoni, only an urban regeneration,
01:45but a real open-air laboratory in which data is studied, data is compared,
01:51we try to find the best solutions to face sustainability, to face all the problems
01:58that derive from climate change.
02:01Among the many challenges that concern the university world, in particular the Milanese one,
02:05there is that of accommodation for students, a problem that the Municipal Administration
02:09tries to face also thanks to the listening and collaboration of the Athenians.
02:12The Milanese university system suffers, and it is also our responsibility, our thought,
02:18of the lack of accommodation for students and that is why I recently convened a table
02:24with the Rector and the Board of Directors to try to work and to at least partially
02:30limit the problem.
02:32The opening ceremony of the academic year was enriched by the lecture of Professor
02:36Carlos Moreno, the creator of the concept of city in 15 minutes, a model of urban development
02:41based on the well-being of the community and on the right to live in a more sustainable
02:45and inclusive environment for everyone.
