00:00Charlie, looking at West Bromwich Albion, obviously we spoke a lot about their form
00:06at the start of the season was fantastic, then they sort of dropped off and struggled
00:10to find wins around October, November time. Looking at their aims now for the season,
00:17obviously we have highlighted how important the top six is. Is that where they should
00:22be expecting and how far do the fans have to look into the future to see things turning
00:27around for them?
00:28I think it's all about being patient in the championship, especially as a West Brom fan.
00:34It's probably quite harsh to say that because they have been incredibly patient. But I think
00:37my point is more that they need to keep that patience going because it's an incredibly
00:41competitive division. And even when they haven't been winning games, they've been pretty solid
00:45defensively, not scoring many goals. The clean sheets have been there, not many defeats whatsoever
00:50this season. And they have been competitive in every match. It's just sometimes not quite
00:56in the back of the net as often as they should do, not getting enough shots on target. But
01:00as you say, top six, I think is definitely realistic, even with how competitive it has
01:04been. Towards the top of the standings, it's bound to be more like the likes of Sunderland
01:09and Sheffield United, Leeds United, Burnley as well. And it's very, very difficult to
01:16get into those automatic promotion spots. Top six, I think definitely more realistic
01:21for Carlos Corbijn and his men. And the squad is strong. They have got depth in a variety
01:25of positions. There's competition. Josh Major has been firing up top. Daryl Dike eventually
01:30will come back into the fold. Carlon Grant looks like a new player. And of course, Mikey
01:34Johnson as well, signed in the summer. He's bound to have an impact. Tom Fellow is a great
01:38young player out on the wing. There are so many positives. It's just all about that patience,
01:43as I mentioned. Yeah, I'll just touch on the standout players for them so far this season
01:50and just the importance of Carlos Corbijn to bring them all together as well. We mentioned
01:55how he was looked at by a number of clubs in the summer to try and get his name, but he seems to
02:01really be enjoying his time at the Albion. Absolutely. The connection with the fan base
02:05at the Hawthorns is really strong, even if the performances and there haven't been many goals
02:10on home soil this season, which has been frustrating. There's without doubt that
02:13connection between the manager and the fans as well. And in terms of standout players,
02:18Major getting in the goals is so important, having a striker that can find the back of the net.
02:23Last season, that was the struggle. They were relying on goals from other positions.
02:27Jed Wallace having to play up front at times as well because of all the injuries.
02:30So it's great to have a proper number nine. Alex Palmer as well between the sticks. It's great to
02:35have a goalkeeper that you can trust and lead from the back. You've got to have a good base
02:39in the side and having a strong goalkeeper provides exactly that. He was the Golden
02:43Glove winner last season for a reason, and he looks set to maybe do that again this campaign.
02:49So he's been really strong. And then Darnold Furlong, another example of an experienced
02:53player who's been solid week in, week out. Alex Mowat as well in midfield,
02:57a little bit inconsistent at times, but another very strong player for the Albion.
