00:00Ever feel like your problems are bigger than they should be? Well, meet the humongous sword guy.
00:04On November 1st, 2024, Redditor NoCobbler2176 posted a photo of himself cosplaying as Guts
00:10from the legendary manga and anime series Berserk. He stood there looking epic with
00:14his hefty greatsword slung over his shoulder. Pretty cool, right? Right?
00:18Well, the internet wasn't satisfied. Enter Redditor InfiniteMortis, who thought,
00:22what if that sword was, like, ridiculously huge? So he supersized the sword to comical proportions,
00:27so big that it defies all logic and physics. This oversized masterpiece quickly escaped the
00:32confines of Reddit and made its way to Twitter. On November 5th, user EternalClassic shared the
00:36colossal sword image, and it blew up, garnering over 16 million views in just five days.
00:40But the internet didn't stop there. Redraws started appearing everywhere. They replaced
00:44Guts and his gargantuan sword with various pop culture references, mainly anime heroes
00:49and video game characters. The meme is similar to the classic, it was too big to be called a
00:53sword meme. A nod to the original description of Guts' massive weapon in Berserk. Apparently,
00:58size does matter.
