00:00Hi, I'm Sat-E Niangi, yes, it's Sat-E Day, before Friday, this is WrestleTalk News.
00:07I got my blazer, haven't got a shirt, it's been a while, what, what, what, what, what,
00:13what do you mean?
00:14What?
00:15What?
00:16No jackets.
00:17No, no jackets?
00:18Hi guys, it's been a while since I've done this, but yes, welcome to WrestleTalk News.
00:27John Cena aka The Guy these fools said was one of the worst WWE Champion of all time.
00:38Check out the latest edition of TLC once you've watched this.
00:41Shockingly announced that this year's Money in the Bank that he'll be officially retiring
00:45at the end of 2025.
00:47Cena has said he'll be working around his other commitments, but is reportedly factored
00:51into plans for the WWE debut on Netflix and, of course, WrestleMania.
00:57And the first steps have been confirmed, as WWE released a video announcing that John
01:02Cena will indeed be part of the 2025 Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
01:07Interestingly, Cena himself said this will be his last Royal Rumble event, not Royal
01:13Rumble match.
01:14So, there's still questions over whether he's in the Rumble itself or in just a match
01:20on the undercard.
01:21What would you like to see Cena do at the Royal Rumble?
01:24Which I must remind you, is in February next year, my birthday month, I'm turning 35.
01:29Let me know in the comments down bloody below.
01:33Cena won't be on every show when he makes his return, he's doing around 36 dates, which
01:37will include TV, pay-per-views and special events.
01:41But with the way WWE are taping the TV currently, maybe he'll be around for every episode of
01:48Raw in 2025.
01:50TKO president Mark Shapiro said at a conference last year that it cost a significant amount
01:55of money to take Raw and SmackDown on the road every week and as a business, they don't
02:01really need to be doing it.
02:02He said,
02:03We're going to scrutinize every dollar on the production end of every single one of
02:07these events and every single one of these telecasts, and we're going to realize substantial
02:11savings.
02:12WWE taped an episode of Raw in October, they taped the episode of Raw following Crown Jewel,
02:18and next week's episode of Raw was taped after this week's episode, which saw a surprise
02:23return.
02:24And World Games participant confirmed, all of which, of course, was leaked online.
02:28Similarly, the episode of SmackDown was aired before Crown Jewel was taped in advance, and
02:33PW Insider are now reporting that WWE will be doing more tape shows in December.
02:38The December 13th live taping of SmackDown will have the December 20th episode taped
02:44after that, and the December 16th live edition of Raw will have the December 23rd episode
02:49taped after that.
02:50This led to an outcry from fans who don't like to see spoilers ahead of time, but perhaps
02:55this is less WWE cutting cost and simply logistical decisions.
03:30The October episode of Raw was taped due to the European tour, the Saudi Arabia tapings
03:44were due to travel, and the taped shows in December gives them a time off over the holiday
03:50seasons.
03:51It's a far cry from the days of WWE booking house shows on Christmas Day.
03:55Even Ryback, of all people, has come to the WWE defence here, writing on Twitter,
04:00"...wrestlers are human beings, with lives, families, and non-stop schedules.
04:05If tape shows give them a breather, that's a good thing."
04:08Well said, Ryback.
04:10Very diplomatic and well put.
04:12He continued,
04:13"...so instead of spoiling it for yourself online, just enjoy the show.
04:17They work harder than any form of sports or entertainment year-round.
04:21Do yourself a favour, quit whining over nothing, and show some respect to the men and women
04:27who give some sort of meaning to your pathetic life."
04:30Okay, so maybe he wasn't diplomatic about that.
04:34So for now, ladies and gentlemen, it's been a while, I'm going to introduce to you the
04:39other half of the House of the Black Mask.
04:42This gorgeous man is going to do a review of Dynamite.
04:45Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Cannon's very own, Tempest, Tempest!
04:51Oh baby, I've missed you!
04:56Look at him!
04:57Look at him!
04:58We're back!
05:00And the screen goes...
05:01Hello, I'm Tempest, and I'm celebrating the death of Twitter as we know it.
05:07This is my review of Dynamite in about five minutes.
05:10We opened this week's Dynamite with a match, which honestly is incredibly refreshing.
05:14I didn't know how much I missed it.
05:15Hangman and Christian clashed, which I love as I still don't think Hangman would completely
05:19align himself with the villains of the AEW locker room, even after everything he's done.
05:24Remember, he's still the hero of this story.
05:27Hook snatched Nick Wayne and brawled to the back, and then the Bang Bang Gang were left
05:31to fend off Page and Cage, and they did for a bit, with Switchblade hitting a brutal Blade
05:35Runner on Christian into the barricade, but then Mother Wayne distracted the ref, Kip
05:39Sabian hit Juice with Christian's contract, and Hanger hit the Deadeye for the win.
05:43Backstage, Rene interviewed Mercedes Monet, who denied any intention behind trying to
05:47hit Chris Statt with the car last week, forcing Camille to pick up her jacket, further teasing
05:51their impending breakup, and then Chris attacked, and they brawled through a wall.
05:55They went through a wall.
05:56Five star segment.
05:57Will Ospreay emerged next and called out Kyle Fletcher.
05:59Kyle called Will a coward, and Will told him to take whatever out of his back pocket.
06:03Kyle threw Will the screwdriver, and Will threw it out of the ring, and it stuck perfectly
06:08in the floor.
06:09Five star segment.
06:10Kyle told Will that he did exactly what Will would have done if the roles were reversed,
06:14and Will told Kyle that when he shaved his head, he'd said he was nothing like Ospreay,
06:19so Kyle needs to pick a lane.
06:21Is he nothing like Will, or is he an Ospreay clone?
06:24F***ing hell of a line, bruv.
06:27Kyle challenged Will to a match at Full Gear, which Will accepted.
06:30Brian Cage and Lance Archer then joined Kyle, but Will brought his own backup in Mark Davis
06:35and Will Hobbs, and they all brawled with the former Aussie Open teammates, going face
06:39to face.
06:40Brian Cage was left in the ring, which led perfectly into his False Count Anywhere match
06:43with Roddy Strong.
06:44They immediately fought to the back, and Roddy got put through a table in pitch black darkness
06:49before they returned to the light and fought into the crowd.
06:52Brian Cage rejoined the fight, but Roddy was backed up by Taven and Bennett, until Taven
06:56was chokeslammed off the hockey boards onto security.
06:59Roddy hit a flying knee over the hockey boards and got the three.
07:02The finish completely came out of nowhere, and cut a very fun match otherwise very short.
07:07However, it did have a fantastic promo segment leading into it.
07:11But wait, we're not done yet.
07:12As MJF watched backstage, Kanosuke Takeshita jumped Roddy, and Adam Cole made the save,
07:18which led into the next match.
07:19They had a lot of stuff announced for this show, and they wasted zero time getting from
07:23one thing to the next, and I f***ing love that.
07:26Maximize those minutes.
07:27The bell rang, and they fought while Cole's music played, just so Takeshita could get
07:31dumped outside in time for Cole to do the boom, and the baby, gotta get your s*** in.
07:36Takeshita had an incredible flurry of offense, countering a Panama Sunrise into his Piledriver,
07:41into his German Suplex, into a Lariat.
07:44He is otherworldly.
07:46Cole hit the Panama Sunrise, but Takeshita rolled out of the ring, grabbed the Dynamite
07:50Diamond ring, punched Cole with it, and got the three.
07:53So it will be MJF vs. Roddy Strong at full gear.
07:57Roddy tried to make the save for Cole, but Takeshita hit him with a low blow, only for
08:01Kyle O'Reilly to make the save for him.
08:03Unfortunately, this didn't get much of a reaction, which could be a bit of an indictment
08:07of how interested people are in this whole Undisputed Kingdom thing and the feud with
08:11MJF in general right now, but also this crowd wasn't very hot for much of the stuff on
08:16this show, so who's to say.
08:18People did lightly chant Undisputed, but Kyle walked away from Cole's offer of a handshake,
08:23so maybe that'll be their match at full gear.
08:26Maybe Kyle just didn't approve of Cole's spray tan.
08:28Meanwhile, Ricochet took out Takeshita by the tunnel while in dress shoes, which was
08:32honestly the most impressive thing on the show to that point.
08:35Renee tried to interview Bobby Lashley, but MVP commandeered the interview and asked Bobby
08:40what it's like to potentially end Swerve's career.
08:42Honestly, MVP could be a great interviewer if he wasn't already great at like everything
08:47else.
08:48Claudio and Wheeler Yuta attacked JD Drake for some reason, and then Jon Moxley took
08:52over the broadcast and talked about how bad he's going to beat Orange Cassidy at full
08:56gear.
08:57Orange interrupted with the conglomeration and set up a match with Wheeler Yuta.
09:01Mox said to abandon all hope, and as he left, Darby Allin jumped off of a balcony that said
09:05THE BAR ON IT to wipe out the Death Riders, but that was absolutely a shot at Claudio
09:10Castagnoli and I will not hear differently.
09:12Everyone brawled and the Death Riders tried to drive off when Darby jumped in the back
09:15of their truck and Claudio swung him into a garage door.
09:19Importantly, they were going to drive off without Wheeler Yuta.
09:23A fun detail, and it seems we're getting Darby Allin vs. Claudio in the near future.
09:28These are the good bits of what was unfortunately a very flat promo segment.
09:32Chris Jericho accepted Tomohiro Ishii's challenge for the ROH title in two weeks on
09:36Thanksgiving Dynamite, but more importantly, the Continental Classic begins on the same
09:42show, which is very exciting.
09:44We are so back.
09:46Then we got Britt Baker vs. Penelope Ford.
09:48They did the best with what little heat they had going into this match, but there was a
09:52lot in this match that didn't land very well.
09:54Penelope Ford looked quite good, but this still wasn't her match to win, and Britt
09:58reversed the Moodle Lock into the Lockjaw for the win, and then Serena Deeb came out
10:03on the stage.
10:04We just rotating the women who aren't over on Dynamite instead of committing to literally
10:09any one of them right now, eh?
10:11Backstage, Minashirakawa was challenged by Harley Cameron, and they both shook their
10:15tits at each other.
10:16But when I do it, I'm told to leave Chipotle.
10:19Swerve took on Lio Rush, and after a lot of cut off spots showing how well the two know
10:23each other, they had an awesome stare down following stereo dives where they both landed
10:28on their feet.
10:29These men are both brilliant.
10:31Lio got a great sequence in, starting with a Poison Rana on the floor and ended with
10:34a Frog Splash for a near fall.
10:36Lio tried to cheat, but got caught and hit with the big business for the pin.
10:40An excellent TV match that brought some life back to what had been a fairly dead crowd
10:45for the last few segments.
10:46Oh but then!
10:49Swerve called out Bobby Lashley for a fight, and in the process said the wrong town name,
10:53so the crowd just didn't appreciate that.
10:56And they didn't let Swerve forget it either!
10:58MVP tried to save the segment as the Hurt Syndicate jumped Swerve and Nana, but the
11:02crowd just wanted to chant this is Bridgeport, which is the most anyone has ever cared about
11:06Bridgeport.
11:07Unfortunately, the Flub really derailed this segment and sapped a lot of the wind from
11:11its sails.
11:12I love everyone involved in this, but this was just unfortunate.
11:16Jamie Hayter tried to outline her plans for the future, but she was interrupted by a vignette
11:20of Julia Hart waking up with a bloody shirt, to a phone call from Brodie King telling her
11:25it's time to come home.
11:27Really cool vignette, and I like that Julia is coming back.
11:30I don't think a match between her and Jamie would be a bad idea if literally anything
11:35involving the women's title had been even remotely interesting in the last three months.
11:40Then we had our main event as FTR took on the Kings of the Black Throne.
11:44Brodie King was at many times the star of this match, particularly at the end where
11:48his suicide dive sealed the deal for his team, wiping out Dax and setting himself up to choke
11:53Dax out for the win.
11:54I was not expecting FTR to lose this one, but if it means more big wins for Brodie King,
11:59I certainly can't complain.
12:01They all shook hands as the show went off the air, and with that, the friendly lads
12:05of the Black Throne are going to full gear.
12:07This was sort of a weird show overall.
12:09The crowd was very hot and cold, with a lot more cold than hot, and a lot of the second
12:14hour just didn't really hit, but when it did, it really did.
12:17We're in a bit of a weird place with AEW at the moment, where I generally like most
12:21of their TV, but I don't think full gear feels like a must-see show.
12:25I'm going to watch it, and I'm sure it'll be good, but it doesn't have the same level
12:29of anticipation that a lot of the other shows they've done this year have had.
12:33This Dynamite gets a 3 out of 5.
12:35And before I go, make sure you check out the latest edition of TLC as Oli, Laurie, and
12:39Sullivan decide the definitive worst WWE World Champions ever.
