00:00A crucial game in the American on this third to final Saturday of the college football
00:08regular season, where one team is now ranked inside the top 25.
00:14That's the green wave of Tulane, 25th in the country as they head to Annapolis today to
00:19take on the Naval Academy.
00:21Navy bouncing back from two consecutive losses after a perfect start with a big victory last
00:27week against South Florida.
00:28But Kev, when you look at this Tulane team, number was six and a half earlier this week.
00:32Now in some spots, it is more than a touchdown at seven and a hook.
00:36Some that flat number of a touchdown Tulane is eight and two straight up.
00:42Perfect in American play at six and oh, also eight and two against the spread along with
00:46army in Indiana.
00:48The only three teams in the country covering at an 80% hit rate or better.
00:51Yeah.
00:52So I think with Tulane, you know, what's, what's been the problem for this team?
00:56They lost their step up games, right?
00:58They state, no you.
01:00And I think for them, you know, they've not had either one of those teams run out and
01:05be dominant.
01:06And, you know, I know it's, it'll sound silly, but in the way Oregon has, which has helped,
01:10you know, keep Boise state in such favorable conversations.
01:14Well, what is Navy?
01:16Is Navy a step up spot, a seven and two football team whose biggest game of the year they got
01:20beat so bad, they forgot to wake up for the next game against rice.
01:24That's the reality of it.
01:25That is a two week span there for Navy that maybe ruined their season because the other
01:31seven games, they looked as good as any team in college football.
01:35Yes, of course, the strength of schedule had plenty to do with that as it has army.
01:40But I look at this number and man Tulane is weighing is laying way more than I would have
01:46anticipated here.
01:47If this game was at Tulane, okay, this number would make some sense, but I think this game
01:52being in Annapolis suggest this number again, is, is just too far the best version of Navy
01:57before they had lost their games late 16 and a half at home to Charlotte.
02:02We saw Charlotte host Tulane as about a 15 point dog again, just work with me here, but
02:07you move those numbers around and that would suggest that Tulane on a neutral is about
02:12a tick under a touchdown.
02:14Okay.
02:15If you've moved some things with the Navy performances, I get that, but you've not moved
02:18it enough to negate home field advantage factor in this being a service academy and
02:23it being over a touchdown now in a number of spots here, Joe, I like Navy to cover quite
02:28a bit.
02:29Yeah, I disagree.
02:30I like to, I watched every play of that Navy game on USF last week.
02:33I was dead wrong with South Florida, but the one thing that I think from an offensive perspective
02:38that South Florida failed is they had the advantage in terms of the physicality in terms
02:42of the beef and weight on the offensive line and failed to run the football or have a commitment
02:47to the run that they should've had in terms of that matchup.
02:50Fell behind and Archie, the quarterback, was completely inconsistent and once they fell
02:55behind by two touchdowns, signed, sealed, and delivered.
02:58Tulane's averaging 227 rushing yards per game, 5.1 yards per carry, and you look at the back-to-back
03:04games.
03:05They rushed for 217 against Charlotte a couple weeks ago, 329, and I understand it was Temple,
03:10but their commitment to the run is there.
03:12I like that recipe.
03:14On the road in Annapolis, not going to be easy, but that defense as well for Tulane,
03:18a buck 14 on the ground allowed.
03:21They have very physical defensive tackles.
03:23We saw that play out earlier in the year against Kansas State.
03:26I like that recipe.
03:28To me, it's like they're begging you to take Navy.
03:31I'll lay it with Tulane.
