00:00And the reason this game is even more intriguing is because Army was set to take on, as the
00:08champions of the American, the champions of the Sun Belt, that would be Marshall.
00:13But Charles Huff left a team that won the Sun Belt to go to a one-win team at Southern
00:20Miss, and then everybody else jumped into the transfer portal, and Marshall was unable
00:25to field a team for this matchup against the Cadets.
00:29So step in, 5-7, Louisiana Tech.
00:34It is often done by a couple of academic ratios to fill in 5-win teams if they need those
00:40schools to fill in the ballgames.
00:42This was done as a matter of convenience.
00:45So Lee Seaguy, as we look at the number, Army laying more than 2 touchdowns against La Tech
00:51today.
00:52What do you make of the independence?
00:53Well, I think there's no doubt Army wins, but I like La Tech in terms of this matchup.
00:58The fact that they're actually in a ballgame, and I understand motivation.
01:01Where is this team heading into this matchup?
01:03They gotta scrape the team together on a short notice.
01:06I still think they could be into this matchup, especially knowing that it's a 14-and-a-half
01:11point number.
01:12Defensively, very good in terms of run support.
01:15They're only allowing 120 rushing yards per game, 3.3 yards per carry.
01:20Granted, they haven't faced a military academy this point in the season or all season long,
01:26but I still think they could keep it within the number, like the under 43-and-a-half.
01:30We know that Bryson Daly and that rushing attack are gonna run it, averaging 298 on
01:35the ground.
01:36They lost to Navy in terms of the rivalry game.
01:38They want to show out 43-and-a-half, Cav is the number.
01:42I like the under.
01:43I think Army wins, but I like La Tech and Evan Bullock, that methodical offense to keep
01:47it within margin.
01:49I think they're within the 14-and-a-half today.
01:52The more you look at Louisiana Tech, again, I understand that this team was not supposed
01:57to be here, but to some degree, awesome that they are.
02:02Not because it's a great story, what a cover machine these guys are.
02:06I mean, they've covered five in a row and not against lackluster competition.
02:12They narrowly and maybe should have upset Jacksonville State, who won that conference.
02:18They did upset Western Kentucky, who I believe played in that conference title game, covered
02:23against Arkansas.
02:24I know Kennesaw's not great, but they win 33-0, that's a cover as well.
02:29They hung with Sam Houston, who's good inside that conference.
02:32Again, this is a Louisiana Tech team that is absolutely playing their best football
02:38of the season, and they boasted the best rush defense on a yards-per-attempt basis in Conference
02:45USA.
02:46I understand Army's another level, but again, we're getting 14-and-a-half points with a
02:51team like Army, who we know isn't going to be going tempo, tempo, tempo.
02:57One other interesting wrinkle, Kanye Udo hitting the portal and going from Army to Arizona
03:03State.
03:05Nobody does that.
03:06Nobody transfers out of these service academies, and transferring to Arizona State is obviously
03:10kind of a hilarious decision, but maybe, maybe suggest that Army, this group, maybe
03:18had eyes for something better, didn't get it, didn't show up in the game against Navy,
03:24call it what it was.
03:25Maybe they don't show up as well like people would expect here against La Tech.
03:29If there's ever going to be buy-in, though, for a type of team, it would be a service
03:33academy in Army.
03:34They saw Navy win the Armed Forces Bowl yesterday.
