00:00Good afternoon, Mr. President, how will you address North Korea, how will you two discuss
00:12North Korea in the meeting?
00:15How will the two nations address North Korea?
00:19President Xi, are you prepared for President-elect Trump?
01:21President-elect Trump, I am ready to address North Korea, and I am ready to make a wise
01:28choice.
01:29Although Sino-US relations have experienced ups and downs, under our leadership, China-U.S.
01:34cooperation and dialogue have been developed, and overall stability has been achieved.
01:39If the two countries can be partners, friends, and work together, Sino-U.S. relations will
01:46have a long-term development.
01:47If the two count each other as opponents, enemies, and compete with each other, Sino-U.S.
01:53relations will suffer setbacks and even retreat.
02:04I think I once had to count up the number of hours you and I spent alone together.
02:09I remember being on the Tibetan Plateau with you, and I remember being in Beijing, I remember
02:15and both as my first as Vice President and then as President.
02:20We haven't always agreed, but our conversations have always been candid and always been frank.
02:26We have never kidded one another.
02:28We've been level with one another.
02:30I think that's vital.
02:32These conversations prevent miscalculations, and they ensure the competition between our
02:37two countries will not veer into conflict.
02:40Competition, not conflict.
02:43That's our responsibility to our people, and as you indicated, to the people around
02:48the world.
02:49We are the most important alliance or most important relationship in the entire world.
02:55And how we get along together is going to impact the rest of the world.
02:59And so, you know, our two countries cannot let any of this competition veer into conflict.
03:05And as I said, that's our responsibility, and over the last four years, I think we've
03:10proven it's possible to have this relationship.
