00:00This video was taken while the Calaguas Island was at signal number 5 in Camarines Norte during the Petito typhoon.
00:31So when the rain and wind of the typhoon hit, 27 houses were totally damaged on the island, 124 were partially damaged.
00:41A classroom of Banokbok Elementary School was also completely destroyed while the other classrooms were partially damaged.
00:48We just experienced the super typhoon at signal number 5. It started at 1am and increased to 3am. We were able to observe it until 11am.
01:03Even though more than 1,000 evacuees were able to return home, they still needed help.
01:09The source of income of the people here is more on fishing. So if the weather is good, we can go fishing. If it's bad, we can't.
01:21The evacuation area there is very small. Maybe only 20 to 25 families can be covered there.
01:29It's a blessing for us that even if there's an evacuation, we can still give to Banokbok Center.
01:35The GMA Capuso Foundation is now in Camarines Norte to help.
01:40Eight barangays in Jose Panganiban were affected by the typhoon.
01:47I don't have a job anymore. I'm just begging for a little bit of help.
01:54It's a big help for us. I'm thankful for the help of the GMA.
02:02While in Mercedes Camarines Norte, the fishermen are now returning to Laot after a two-day vacation due to the typhoon.
02:12But the small boat like Alvin's won't be leaving Pangpang for a while.
02:17We're short of income because of the two-day vacation.
02:22The fishing in Fishport is also very lively.
02:26There's even a beach for those who want to surf and swim in the municipality of Daet.
02:35All the evacuees have returned to their homes.
02:39But the Santa Rosa family is still affected by the typhoon.
02:44Their father of the family, Rogelio, who is a resident of Barangay Bagasba in Daet,
02:50According to the family, Mang Rogelio went home from the evacuation center on a motorcycle, 67 years old, to bring food for their dogs.
03:00But when he passed by the road where a pole fell due to the typhoon,
03:05Mang Rogelio jumped on the wired internet cable, so it cut his neck.
03:12It also fell on the motorcycle and injured his head and back.
03:16He's kind to his family.
03:22He's a funny person.
03:26I miss him.
03:31Now that he's gone, I don't have anyone.
03:37When he comes home at 4pm, I don't have anyone to wait for me.
03:42The family will receive help from the local government.
03:46For GMA Integrated News, Sandra Aguinaldo, for Tutok 24 Horas.
