00:00he wasn't the most friendliest boy we first started noticing Ricky sort of
00:04roaming around the neighborhood that we're in he had a lot of cuts on him but
00:09he really stood out to us because he had these massive cheeks
00:13bless him he was just out there looking for food on his own getting into fights
00:17so that's when we said right we're gonna try and tame him we knew it's gonna be a
00:22bit hard because he's very hissy me my partner rescued a family of feral cats
00:33so in our garden we've got like a little shed set up for them and then Ricky
00:37spotted me going in there to feed them and he started to go in there so we
00:45started feeding him more hanging around him talking to him just getting him used
00:51to our presence helped took a probably a good two three months before I could
01:04just pet him gradually as we started to notice he was getting more and more
01:11injuries on him so we thought we've got to try and untrap him but because he was
01:17so weak my partner was able to get him into a carrier we've got him to our vet
01:23you're not very happy about going in there are you set up our garage is sort of a
01:28safe space for him just to recover get a bit of that energy back we thought we
01:36could feed him out there and just let him get a bit stronger
01:42within a few days we just noticed the subtle improvements
01:50he thought this is going the right way so we just kept persevering with him

02:32It was just like he was so grateful he thought I've got a safe space I can
02:37relax now and then we were able to get him back to the vets to get him neutered
02:41and microchipped he hasn't once attempt to go back out
02:48he's been inside just over a year now
02:52I may have had a cat party for him just a little birthday party because I thought
02:58he's done so well the last year why not celebrate I think he's probably the most
03:04affectionate cat we have now which is crazy to think what he's like a year and
03:07a half ago he just needed a bit of time a bit of patience and just someone to
03:13love him and I just hope it shows helping stray cats is worth it
03:20most of them haven't had a good start they just need a chance once you gain
03:27that trust they can become amazing pets
