00:02 Bruce showed up at my doorstep in November of 2021.
00:08 You're so sweet, buddy.
00:10 I saw him over the next couple of months pretty infrequently.
00:15 Look who's here during the day. Hi, baby.
00:22 Then he started coming every day.
00:25 Good morning, buddy.
00:29 I just kept feeding him and I decided to try to socialize him.
00:35 I love you.
00:39 Slowly started feeding him with the door like cracked open.
00:46 There you go.
00:47 It's okay.
00:50 We worked like that, baby steps, you know, until he was able to fully eat inside the house.
00:59 I decided to start feeding him with a spoon.
01:01 From there, we graduated to a glove to try to get him acclimated to my hands.
01:11 It was a long time of him with the glove, trying to introduce some pets
01:20 before trying to trap him.
01:26 He's getting trapped this weekend.

01:30 He was too smart to be trapped in conventional ways.
01:34 I decided to fight the bullet and to trap him with my house.
01:42 He didn't love that.

01:59 How am I supposed to get you down from there?

02:03 He was a handful.
02:05 Are you feeling a little less scared?
02:07 But socialization moved pretty quickly once he was inside.
02:13 He was making it very clear that he wanted to be pet.
02:21 But then when I went to actually pet him, he wouldn't let me anywhere near him.
02:31 I talked to the folks at Alley Cat Project that I volunteered with and said, "Hey, what do you think would work for this?"
02:39 So that was when the scratcher really came in.
02:41 It really, really helped get him acclimated to me and to understanding that, you know,
02:47 he was safe.
02:51 Ever since then, it's been totally snowball of love.

03:13 He wants me to carry him everywhere.
03:17 Sleeps with me in bed every night, which is very sweet, until, you know, 7 a.m. when he's standing on my throat screaming for breakfast.
03:37 I find that I wake up with a smile on my face and I go to bed with a smile on my face.
