00:00The San Francisco 49ers, Jacob, I'm still waiting for them to wake up. I don't get this one at all.
00:08If you told me they won every game the rest of the year and finished 12 and 5, I'd say yeah,
00:11that's probably right. But they're 5 and 5 right now. They have not beaten a winning team
00:16this season. Even with Christian McCaffrey back, they're finding ways to lose games.
00:20And the other part about this, Jacob, maybe the most shocking part, is where is the 70-yard
00:25Samuel touchdown? Where is the 50-yard Juwan Jennings? They don't have any big plays going
00:31for them ever. It feels like dink and dunk. They get stopped and they end up scoring two touchdowns
00:36every game. What gives? It's really strange to watch because you look at their roster. Again,
00:42this is a team with all the talents in the world. I mean, there's just a gaggle of all pros on both
00:47sides of the ball for them. So you look at their roster and you say, yeah, they should easily be
00:52winning this NFC West where no team is really separating itself. But it comes down to this is
00:57another team that, like the Texans, has its issues in the second half. I think you're dead right.
01:02The lack of explosive plays is really hurting them. I think with Brandon Aiyuk out, I think
01:07that loss and his slow start to the season after his holdout, I think that had more of an impact
01:12than anyone really realized, myself included. Just his ability to take the top off the defense in
01:18addition to Debo Samuel really opened things up for that offense. Same thing for George Kittle,
01:24who was a great, great vertical threat. When those two aren't on the field, the 49ers have to play
01:28that dink and dunk style of offense. And Debo Samuel is a big guy. He's pretty physical. He's
01:33fast too. But if you're able to focus on him and say, hey, Juwan Jennings, try to beat us deep.
01:39I love Juwan Jennings, his physicality, great number two receiver, but not the type of guy
01:43who's going to make huge explosive plays all the time. So I think unless they can find a way to
01:48really become run dominant with McCaffrey and have him rip off some big yards, I think they're
01:52going to continue to play these tight games. And maybe they'll pull some of them out, but
01:56there are no guarantee to make the playoffs, which is wild to think about in that division.
