Eraring Battery stage 3

Origin Energy has approved the third stage of its large-scale battery at Eraring Power Station.

00:00A roaring and associated activity has been really important for many years, so the power

00:27station came on fully in 1984, and it's been at the heart of so many jobs, and we're really

00:34talking about skilled jobs, well-paying jobs, the multiplier effect from a roaring power

00:40station has been huge for the area, and we're seeing significant growth, it's been a great

00:45place for people to come and to move to, to raise their families, and I think a lot of

00:51people are concerned about the change of what we're seeing with energy transition, what

00:56will it actually mean for the area, but it's actually been really important developing

01:01a great lifestyle, and I think that my hope is that we can manage to keep the site still

01:08doing that for years to come.

01:12This large-scale battery technology is phenomenal, I've known about it, I've read about it, I've

01:19seen it coming, but to actually go there and see it in the flesh so to speak, very impressive.

01:26The battery technology itself is quite extraordinary as to how that's going to plug into our energy

01:33needs, our storage and transmission, it's a completely new world, and to have it being

01:41explained to me is really beneficial.
