00:00The Bureau of Corrections has added security to the prisons in the country

00:05because it is now prohibited to bring cellphones of the people of the Bucor,

00:11as well as visitors to the Bible and other penal colonies.

00:15Oscar Oida is on the case.

00:20Since last Tuesday, the No Cellphone Policy has been violated in the prisons of the Bureau of Corrections.

00:26That is why it is now prohibited to bring cellphones inside the New Bilibid Prison

00:30and other penal colonies in the country,

00:33even for visitors or people of the Bucor.

00:37According to Bucor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr.,

00:40even though he is already in prison,

00:42drug lords can still operate from inside through a fake cellphone.

00:56If you borrow a cellphone from the PDL,

00:58they will give you P100,000 for a smartphone.

01:02If it's a regular phone, it's only P50,000 for a text and call.

01:06Catapang Jr. said that many have been removed from the service because of such behavior.

01:12At one point, Bucor presented to the media the new RS Full Body Scanner,

01:19where in just three seconds, anyone who visits the New Bilibid Prison has a full body scan.

01:26They can see everything even if it's hidden in the crevices of the body.

01:31Their target is also to place other penal colonies in the future.
