00:00On the same day of Christmas, more than 20 families in Tondo, Manila lost their homes because of the fire.

00:08And so that it won't happen again, especially during the new year,

00:19A blazing fire stopped the joyous celebration of Christmas of the residents of Pilapil Street in Tondo, Manila.

00:26Last night, a blazing fire broke out from the 5th floor of the house.

00:30The residents ran away with almost nothing.

00:36Jean and her 10-month-old baby jumped from the 4th floor just to be saved.

00:43We had no choice.

00:44We will suffocate inside even if we won't be burned totally.

00:48But suffocation, we can die there.

00:52Our 10-month-old baby's head and back were covered.

00:56We jumped from 15 feet.

00:58What's more painful is that this happened twice.

01:02These houses were also burned down in April 2021.

01:05It's painful. It's really painful.

01:07You think, I need to save my child from our lives.

01:12It's really devastating.

01:17In that blazing fire, Genesis lost her loved one.

01:21And now, they will celebrate the new year with nothing.

01:25We lost our nephew.

01:28We lost our 3-year-old nephew.

01:30Now, again, in 2020, it's really hard for us to go through this tragedy.

01:37The blazing fire was completely extinguished after almost an hour.

01:41As of now, the barangay has distributed help to the 25 families who were burned

01:46and are currently staying in the covered court of the barangay.

01:49The cause of the blazing fire is still being investigated.

01:51But the angle of the illegal connection of the electricity is coming out

01:55according to the barangay 51.

01:57According to the BFP, there is a connection in the line of electricity

02:00to the common cause of the blazing fire that was reported this December.

02:04Aside from being careful, it's also good to have the wiring in the house checked.

02:09To be honest, there is a big decrease in the number of fire incidents

02:13or fires that were reported this December compared to last year.

02:17But they still say that there should be no campaigns,

02:19especially as the new year is approaching.

02:22We are still on a red alert.
