00:00More than 200 giants will be seen at the Gigantes Festival in the town of Angono, Rizal.
00:06As the Art Capital of the Philippines,
00:08it is a pleasure for the town to host the so-called Festival every November in Luzon.
00:14The details are in the news of Mark Brian Lito from PIA Calabarzon.
00:21The town of Angono is ready for the long-awaited celebration in their place,
00:25the parade of more than 200 red and blue giants made by local artists in the town.
00:31As the Art Capital of the Philippines,
00:33it is a pleasure for the town to host the so-called Festival every November in Luzon.
00:38Now, the giants are the residents of Angono,
00:42the residents who are happy together,
00:48the giants who are dancing together,
00:50we are all thankful for all the blessings, all the successes that our town has achieved.
00:57According to Arturo Argana, who is better known as Kuya Toti,
01:01part of their trade and culture is the making of giants.
01:05Now, my giant is almost reaching its head, reaching 250.
01:10But the making of a giant, if this is just paper,
01:16and there is no molding, it will only take 2 to 3 weeks.
01:21But if there is molding, especially fiberglass,
01:24one head will take almost a month.
01:27The head of the giant is made of paper mache,
01:30while the body is traditionally made of bamboo strips.
01:33And to make these lighter, most of them are made of thin aluminum.
01:37According to Kuya Toti,
01:39some young people are also showing interest in the making of giants.
01:43The culture of the residents of Angono will continue to thrive
01:47until the next generation.
01:49From the Philippine Information Agency, Calabarzon,
