00:00Yes, I loved you, and then all we did was resent each other and try to control each
00:03other.
00:04It caused each other pain.
00:06That's marriage.
00:07Welcome to Miss Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the twists that made us
00:11question everything we thought we knew about a heroic character.
00:15This list is riddled with spoilers, so beware.
00:18Two-faced, Harvey Two-faced.
00:20Where should I hide?
00:23Who I am?
00:27Number 10.
00:28The Mole.
00:29No way out.
00:30At least you'll admit your relationship with the woman was poorly handled.
00:31I did what I was told.
00:32You wanted me to be your lover.
00:33I was her lover.
00:34I don't see any point in going on with this.
00:35Yeah, well neither do I.
00:36In this sizzling neo-noir political thriller, Kevin Costner plays Lieutenant Commander Tom
00:43Farrell, a naval intelligence officer.
00:45His life is in danger when the woman he's having an affair with is murdered, and he's
00:49wrongly misidentified as a Russian agent.
00:52He must clear his good name as a patriot, but then the movie drops a bomb on us.
00:57Farrell really is a Russian agent.
00:59Charlie, come look at this.
01:01Somebody get Donovan down here.
01:04Commander Farrell.
01:06Finally fed up with his assignment, he confronts his handler, who reveals himself from behind
01:11a two-way mirror.
01:12Although some critics weren't as taken with the twist, it was a huge surprise for contemporary
01:17audiences.
01:18A lot of people are looking for you.
01:23Then aren't you the clever one?
01:27Number 9.
01:28Jill is Ghost Face.
01:30Scream 4.
01:31Wait, no.
01:32You can't.
01:33You can't.
01:34There's rules.
01:35The long-awaited sequel spends most of its runtime setting up original Final Girl Sidney
01:39Prescott's young cousin Jill as the Scream series' new ingenue.
01:44In the climax, she reveals herself as the new Ghost Face.
01:48Her motive is simple.
01:49Jill wants to be famous.
01:51While Sidney has had to find a way to deal with the unwanted fame, Jill was in the shadows,
01:56envying every bit of attention her traumatized cousin received.
01:59Look around.
02:01We all live in public now.
02:02We're all on the internet.
02:03How do you think people become famous anymore?
02:06Her twisted reasoning for her killing spree is a truly scary reflection of post-internet
02:11narcissism.
02:12It brought the Scream series into the digital era and made for a truly iconic unmasking.
02:17And I heard they'd kill my mom and Robbie and Kirby too.
02:24Shh.
02:25Just lay back.
02:26Try to rest.
02:27Number 8.
02:28The Real Shooter.
02:29Secret Window.
02:30Would you like to hear something that does make sense?
02:33Call the police.
02:34Call Dave Newsome.
02:35Tell him to get down here right this second and lock you up before you can do any more
02:39damage.
02:40In the Stephen King adaptation, Jolly Depp plays novelist Mort Rainey, who's spending
02:44time in a secluded cabin after his wife leaves him for another man.
02:48When a stranger named John Shooter arrives and accuses him of plagiarizing his short
02:52story, things take a turn for the bizarre.
02:55The dead bodies pile up, and Mort's strange wife arrives at the cabin where she realizes
03:00the truth.
03:01John Shooter is fictional.
03:03He's actually a manifestation of Mort's Dissociative Identity Disorder.
03:08Ain't no Mort here.
03:10Mort's dead.
03:12He did a whole lot of squirming around, but in the end, he couldn't lie to himself anymore,
03:16let alone to me.
03:18Now, I've never put a hand on him, missus.
03:20I swear.
03:21His last name takes on a very specific double meaning as Mort attacks her.
03:26I'm sure that in time, her death will be a mystery.
03:32Number 7.
03:33The Surveillance Camera.
03:34High Tension.
03:35Marie is staying with her friend Alex's family when a brutal serial killer arrives.
03:43He dispatches the family and kidnaps Alex, with Marie in pursuit.
03:47The killing spree continues at a nearby gas station, and Marie is finally able to put
03:52a stop to the homicidal maniac's crimes.
03:54She and Alex escape, but not all is well.
03:57Once we leave Marie's point of view, we see cops watching surveillance footage back,
04:02revealing that Marie has been the killer the whole time.
04:05Her obsessive love for her friend has led her to kill her family and kidnap her.
04:14Number 6.
04:15Harvey Dent Becomes Two-Face.
04:17The Dark Knight.
04:18You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
04:23Anyone with any knowledge of the original comics would have seen it coming, but it's
04:26still pretty depressing to watch the idealistic district attorney go down the wrong path.
04:31Harvey Dent starts as a clean-cut crusader for justice.
04:34A vicious and ingenious plot by the Joker ends up killing his girlfriend, Rachel Dawes.
04:40Dent's face is disfigured in the resulting explosion.
04:43Traumatized and disillusioned, he forgets his nice guy persona.
04:48He assumes the identity of the dreaded Two-Face.
04:51He swears revenge on those who have wronged him, and this time, he's doing it outside
04:55the confines of the law.
05:14Number 5.
05:16Amy's Diary.
05:17Gone Girl.
05:24The first half of this mystery movie hinges on an obvious premise.
05:27Amy Dunn, the woman who is missing and presumed dead, is the victim.
05:31Why wouldn't you sympathize with her?
05:33Peeking into her diary gives us a taste of how in love she was with her husband, who's
05:38now the prime suspect in her murder.
05:40But then she reveals that everything we know about her is a smartly constructed lie.
05:45Not only is she alive, but she masterminded her own disappearance and framed her husband.
05:50Every little detail has been accounted for, and she is one step ahead of everyone.
05:56The reveal is so insane, that it's enough to give an unsuspecting viewer whiplash.
06:02Number 4.
06:03The Real Tyler Durden.
06:04Fight Club.
06:31Edward Norton's narrator meets and becomes fascinated by Tyler Durden, a modern day philosopher
06:44with some pretty strong opinions about modern masculinity.
06:47The narrator realizes too late he's in league with a monster.
06:51Starting a fight club was one thing, but working its members up into a righteous mob to carry
06:56out terrorist actions is where our hero draws the line.
07:011537 Paper Street.
07:03That's our headquarters.
07:05Charismatic Tyler Durden has one more trick up his sleeve.
07:09He reveals to the narrator that they are the same person.
07:12Durden is merely the more uninhibited side of his personality.
07:16The person he wishes he could be.
07:18You need me.
07:19No, I don't.
07:20I really don't anymore.
07:21Hey, you created me.
07:22I didn't create some loser alter ego to make myself feel better.
07:25Take some responsibility.
07:27Number 3.
07:28They Are The Ghosts.
07:29The Others.
07:30We got lost.
07:31We still haven't left the garden yet, silly.
07:34This inverted haunted house tale follows Grace, a war widow, and her two young children as
07:39they begin to experience a poltergeist in their gothic English estate.
07:43Grace's daughter insists she's been contacted by a ghost named Victor.
07:47Frightening set pieces and eerie suspense scenes give way to the revelation that the
07:51house is haunted, only they are the ones that are haunting it.
07:55Grace and the children stumble upon a seance being held to summon them.
07:59They find out that years before, Grace smothered her children and took her own life soon after.
08:04Tragic, shocking, and completely ingenious, it changed the entire movie.
08:09And I pulled the trigger.
08:16Nothing.
08:17Number 2.
08:18There Is No Aaron.
08:20Primal Fear.
08:21The minute you came into my cell, I knew everything was going to be okay.
08:24You saved my life.
08:27Martin Vale may be the protagonist, but he's not exactly an angel.
08:31Martin is a swaggering, headline-chasing defence attorney who only takes up cases that will
08:35bolster his own profile.
08:37So when he takes up the case of Aaron, a mild-mannered teenage boy accused of murder, he's so charmed
08:43by the young man that he almost threatens to become a decent guy.
08:47He builds a temporary insanity defence when he realises Aaron suffers from dissociative
08:52identity disorder and committed his crime when he was under the influence of his violent alter ego, Roy.
08:59Vale realises too late that Aaron never existed.
09:02Vale lets a cold-blooded killer fool him, and he's just scored him the most lenient sentence possible.
09:09We're a great team, you and me.
09:11You think I could have done this without you?
09:14You're just feeling a little anger here because you started to care about old Aaron.
09:17I can understand that, but, you know, love hurts, Marty.
09:21What can I say?

09:38Number 1.
09:39Norman is Mother.
09:41Psycho
09:42You eat like a bird.
09:45And you'd know, of course.
09:48No, not really.
09:49Halfway through Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece, the audience is expected to shift its sympathy from the now-dead Marion Crane to Norman Bates.
09:58Actor Anthony Perkins makes it easy.
10:00Bates is a lonely, haunted motel proprietor who lives under the thumb of his domineering mother.
10:06What's more, we're led to believe he's such a devoted son to this monstrous woman that he covers up her murders.
10:12In truth, the ending reveals that Mrs. Bates has been dead for years.
10:15Norman, driven over the edge by her abuse, was so racked with guilt after murdering her that he donned her clothes and a wig to carry out more murders.
10:28Even after this revelation, it's hard not to feel bad for Norman.
10:32I hope they are watching.
10:34They'll see.
10:35They'll see and they'll know.
10:37And they'll say, why, she wouldn't even harm a fly.
10:42Which of these plot twists did you see coming a mile away?
10:45Let us know in the comments.
10:47Oh, God, no, please, no!
10:49For some reason, I thought of my first fight with Tyler.
10:53Do you agree with our picks?
