00:00Is this your first CMA?
00:01It is.
00:02Okay, how are you feeling right now?
00:04Well, I'm excited because I don't have to perform and do anything.
00:09I can't make any mistakes.
00:10I just get to watch and be a fan of all of the music that I like.
00:14So, I'm a kid in a candy store.
00:17Definitely.
00:18So, you are on Yellowstone.
00:20I want to hear about that.
00:22Yellowstone has been quite the phenomenon.
00:25We didn't know what it was when we started it.
00:27You know, you have this idea and you hope for the best,
00:30but you never imagine it's going to affect people the way that it has.
00:33And we reach so many people and have the response.
00:37So, then we have a responsibility to service that and to try to keep it going
00:41and keep it fresh and take care of the people that we make it for,
00:45which is the ranchers and the farmers, and service them.
00:48And we've got a great cast and crew and writers and directors to help us do it.
00:52So, we're just working our mutts off to make sure we don't miss a step.
00:55Absolutely.
00:56So, the John Dutton stuff has been in the media a lot.
00:59Could you tell us a little bit about that and how that's affected this year?
01:05You know, I would use the analogy of a football team.
01:10If your quarterback gets hurt and he has to come out of a game, you have to play.
01:16And so, you've got to figure out another way to run the ball or throw the ball
01:20or just do different things because you can't quit.
01:24And so, that's what happened.
01:25We lost our quarterback and we still have to play the game.
01:29I love that analogy.
01:30Yeah.
01:31And, like, the team is still supporting you.
01:32It's still.
01:33There's a lot of other people there and families and the whole world around it
01:36and the stadium and everybody has to go to work.
01:38So, what are you going to do?
01:39Well, you've got to figure it out.
01:40And so, that's what we do.
01:41We found a way to figure it out.
01:43Wow.
01:44And has that affected you personally just with the change?
01:49Yeah.
01:50You know, you get into a certain level of comfort and understanding.
01:53And when it's altered, it's a little bit of a bump.
01:57But, like anything, you just put your helmet on and you're like,
02:00I've got to go catch the next pass.
02:02So, you can't really dwell on it too much.
02:05Yeah.
02:06Well, were you so excited when they asked you to be a part of Yellowstone?
02:09Yes.
02:10What was that?
02:11I was thrilled.
02:12Did you see the vision of how big it was going to be?
02:13I wanted to be a cowboy since I was a kid.
02:15Didn't know how big it was going to become at all.
02:18I thought we were going to have a really good time and who knows how long it will last.
02:22If you get a year or two, that's a huge success.
02:24After season three, I was like, wow, this is bigger than anything I could have imagined.
02:29So, that's when it just every day you're pinching yourself about what you get to do at work
02:34and the fun things that are happening.
02:36It's like being at Disney on a daily basis.
02:39Absolutely.
02:40Who's your favorite cast member that you've worked with?
02:42Oh, gosh.
02:43Just on a personal level.
02:44We want to know that.
02:45I spend a ton of time with Jen Landon.
02:47Oh, I love Jen.
02:48And I'm just in love with her.
02:49We're kindred spirits.
02:51So, we're always running around doing stuff together.
02:53I love Denim.
02:54I love Jeff.
02:55I love Bingham and Hassey, Jake and Ethan, Corey.
02:57I mean, Cole.
02:58Everybody's the same.
02:59It's really a clubhouse.
03:00Yes.
03:01So, it's hard to pick one, but I just happened to see Jen last week.
03:04She's amazing.
03:05And we just laugh.
03:06We just laugh all the time.
03:07Does she still have her rescue?
03:09Yes.
03:10Laskis.
03:11Laskis.
03:12Laskis is, I don't even know, it's the dog from the brand with the spot eye from like
03:19Target.
03:20Yeah.
03:21Target.
03:22Yeah.
03:23Whatever breed that is.
03:24I can't remember what breed that is.
03:25And it's a weird little dog.
03:26But yeah, she still has Laskis.
03:28So, tell us one more thing about your music, or not your music, your acting career.
03:34Something that is like taking you from the beginning to the end and to where you are
03:38right now.
03:39Oh, gosh.
03:40Okay.
03:41Super easy question, right?
03:42The beginning, they don't tell you the length of time from when you say you want to do something
03:48and what it means to achieve it.
03:50And you have to constantly renew your idea of what you're doing to get there.
03:57Otherwise, the whole thing falls apart.
03:59And so, I'm always making sure in my mind I know what I'm doing.
04:03And that's what keeps me able to work and be happy going to work every day.
04:08Because it's not the glamour and the success of it all, at all.
04:12Oh, I'm sure it's not.
04:13It's the hard parts of it.
04:14Absolutely.
04:15It's trickier than people think.
04:17I'm sure it is.
04:18And I'm not an actress, but I have a lot of respect for you and how hard you work and everything.
04:24So, thank you so much for coming and talking to us.
04:26Thanks for watching it.
04:27Of course.
04:28I'm a huge fan.
04:29I hope you like how it ends.
04:30Oh, now I have to know.
04:33I can't tell you.
04:34I know you can't tell me, but I'm like dying now.
04:36You got four more weeks.
04:37There's one on Sunday, and then there's three more.
04:40I think it ends on the 17th of December will be the finale.
04:44So, everything will be answered at that point.
04:46Wow.
04:47So, there's no more Yellowstone after that, huh?
04:49That is unclear.
04:51Oh, so we have some prequels, and we may have a...
04:53Anything's possible.
04:55I will say that anything is possible.
04:57So, you...
04:59Maybe.
05:00I don't actually know that.
05:01I'm just saying.
05:02I think he knows, and he's not telling us.
05:03Not no, not yes, not no.
