00:00The U.S. Embassy confirmed the formation of the United States of the Task Force Ayungin.

00:07National Security Advisor Eduardo Año de Linao,

00:11and the remaining Filipinas will lead the operations in Ayungin Shoal.

00:22The U.S. Embassy said that the Task Force Ayungin

00:28is promoting coordination and interoperability between the United States and the Philippines

00:35through the support of the U.S. Forces in the activities of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea.

00:42First, it was shared in a social media post by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III

00:49that he greeted the American troops of the U.S. Task Force Ayungin

00:54in his visit on Tuesday to the AFP Western Command in Palawan.

00:58In an interview, the U.S. Embassy said that this initiative is based on different lines of cooperation

01:06between the forces of the United States and the Philippines,

01:09including the Mutual Defense Board, Security Engagement Board Process, and the Sea Guard Framework,

01:15which separates the free and open region of the Indo-Pacific.

01:20According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines,

01:22the presence of U.S. troops in Palawan is to provide technical assistance

01:27to the Command and Control Fusion Center in the Western Command.

01:31Despite the presence of the U.S. Task Force,

01:35National Security Advisor Eduardo Año said

01:38that the operations in Ayungin Shoal, where the AFP Sierra Madre is located,

01:42are still being carried out by the Philippines.

01:46It is purely solely a Philippine Armed Forces, I mean, Philippine Forces operation.

01:54The West Coast is supported by the Philippine Coast Guard.

01:58The RORE, the Ayungin, is always a pure Filipino operation.

02:06For Año, the support provided by the U.S. is a great help,

02:11not only in the center of Ayungin Shoal.

02:16This is not centered just on Ayungin.

02:19This is all aspects of MDT, SEB, our cooperation, collaboration with the U.S. Forces.

02:35Meanwhile, various armies from the ASEAN region gathered here in Pampanga

02:40for the first year of the ASEAN Army Summit.

02:42After 8 years, the Philippines is again its host

02:45with the theme of Strengthening Unity, Security and Prosperity, Fostering Camaraderie and Cooperation.
