00:09providing essential relief and medical services. The society was founded in 1893 after the
00:15Phan Go Siamese Crisis, also known as the Incident of Rattanakosin Era 112. During the crisis,
00:21French gunboats blockaded Bangkok over territorial disputes in the northeast,
00:26which now belongs to Laos. This conflict caused significant casualties among soldiers.
00:31Than Puying Prian, Pha Sakorn Lawong, a noblewoman, then urged the royal family to
00:36establish a relief organization to help those injured, leading to the founding of the Red
00:41Unalom Society of Siam, later renamed the Thai Red Cross Society. Interestingly, the road near
00:48the Thai Red Cross Society is named Ang Vee Doonang Road, honoring the Swiss humanitarian who
