00:00We are with Tucker Wetmore. He is an emerging artist that is just taking off and taking country
00:05music by storm. Tell us about that. I'm trying to for sure. I'm having fun with it though. It's
00:11crazy. It's getting hectic for sure. Yeah. I'm pretty tired all the time. Yeah, I can imagine.
00:15But I'm loving it. I'm loving all of it. So I actually got to see you at the CMA at CMA Fest
00:20when your first performance and I loved how grateful you were on stage and how you just
00:26praised your mom and you gave thanks to God about where you are in your life. So tell us
00:31something that keeps you grounded. Both of those things. I mean, Jesus Christ himself,
00:38you stretch too far away, you'll find yourself pretty lost. So I try to keep within arm's
00:45distance. And my family, my friends, I have such a good friend group here in Nashville and I'm
00:51just blessed. I'm just blessed. I mean, you have taken off and it's been so surprising to so many
00:56people, but you're such an incredible artist. Tell us your favorite song that you've ever written.
01:00Favorite song I've ever written. Oh, gosh. The songwriter in me wants to say the next one.
01:08I mean, I got a top 10 country right now. That's probably my favorite as of right now.
01:14Wind Up Missing You, which is super cool. I love the lyrics of that song. And what gave you the
01:21inspiration for that? It was sunny. It was a sunny day. I was with my buddies and we're like,
01:25let's just write something fun, something that feels good, windows down, talking about like
01:30young love kind of thing. And I think I think we kind of hit the nail on the head with it.
01:34You definitely did, especially when you're comparing like Waves on a Sunset and, you know,
01:41just to a relationship. I think that's incredible songwriting. Thank you so much.
01:44So tell us about something that's unique on tour that you do or you can't live without.
01:50Oh, sleep. I try to take a nap every day.
01:55That's so real and honest. I'm so tired. I need sleep so bad.
02:00We take a shot of Jack Daniels before every show. Okay. Did you take one before the show?
02:06Today? Yeah. No, I took a lot last night at the BMI Awards.
02:10Okay, you were there. I did. Yeah, it was my first one. This is my first time here.
02:14First red carpet. I know. It's so cool. This is so awesome.
02:17It's so cool. So when did you start singing and writing music?
02:21I started playing piano when I was 11. My love, my first love was music, you know, and
02:28played for years. And then after college football didn't work out,
02:31I moved back home and then music found me again. So probably around like 2018, 2019.
02:37And people have compared you to Morgan Wallen. How does that make you feel?
02:40I mean, he's doing all the right things. He's killing it. His music's great, but I'm just me
02:46at the end of the day. I can't change nothing about that. If you don't like it, don't listen.
02:52I think people love it. I appreciate it. But yeah, I mean, I'm just me. And if I'm getting
02:58compared to something great, then I can't. I think it's an honor more than a diss.
03:03Absolutely.
