A man has been killed and another person injured in a helicopter crash in south-west New South Wales.

00:00What we know so far, Ruby, is that this Super Puma helicopter left Broken Hill this morning
00:08and on its way to Albury before it crashed 40 kilometres west of Hay in a region called
00:15One Tree.
00:16Now, emergency services received calls just before 12pm to Korong Road following reports
00:23of a helicopter crash.
00:25Now, a man believed to be in his 40s received care by New South Wales Ambulance Paramedics
00:31but unfortunately died at the scene.
00:33He is yet to be formally identified.
00:35Now, the pilot, a man believed to be in his 30s, received care also from New South Wales
00:41Ambulance Paramedics but those were only minor injuries before he was taken to Melbourne
00:47Hospital.
00:48Now, a crime scene has been established with investigation underway and that crime scene
00:53has been established by police officers attached to the Murrumbidgee Police District.
00:58Now, what we know is that this Super Puma helicopter travelled to several locations
01:03across Australia this week and it's believed that this helicopter belongs to a company
01:09in the United States in Oregon.
01:11Now, this helicopter is significantly large and has the capability of fighting fires which
01:17has done so previously in the United States, Ruby.
01:22And what happens from here, Rachel?
01:24Yeah, so now there's a major investigation by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
01:31They're sending out investigators tomorrow which will undergo research and cover a large
01:38area of one tree where the incident occurred.
01:42Now, what they really want is they want witnesses and they want to speak to people who may have
01:47seen the helicopter today or any time during the week to try to get as much information
01:54as possible for their reports.
01:57Now they're calling on any witnesses who have seen this helicopter any time this week or
02:02today or even the crash to come forward, especially anyone who has any footage.
