00:00Five airlines have been fined a total of almost €180 million for abusive practices by the
00:09Spanish Ministry of Consumer Affairs. Ryanair, Bueling, EasyJet, Norwegian and Volotea are
00:16violating consumer rights by charging extra for hand luggage and adjacent seats for minors
00:21and disabled people, according to the ministry.
00:23The airlines will not be allowed to continue the sanctioned practices at Spanish airports.
00:45Ryanair faced the biggest fine and is also being penalized for charging passengers a
00:50disproportionate amount for printing out their tickets at the terminal. The airline
00:55called the fines illegal and unjustified and said it will immediately appeal.
