00:00Once again a Ryanair passenger has fallen foul of the airline's very strict cabin baggage rules.
00:07The difference here is that Ruby Flanagan was actually charged extra for a water bottle.
00:13Thing is it wasn't just an ordinary plastic water bottle, this was a really serious one.
00:19It looks about one litre and something which you would pay quite a lot of money for.
00:25Here's the circumstances, Ruby flew perfectly happily with her compliant bag and the water
00:31bottle from London to Dublin. On the way back the cabin baggage police were out in force
00:38and they were checking everybody's bags as airlines have a perfect right to do.
00:44In this case they said to Ruby that's too big and she of course had the choice of leaving the
00:51bottle behind or trying to pack it into her bag which I don't think would have worked or
01:00not getting the flight. So she chose to pay 50 pounds extra for that bag. She's very upset,
01:08I don't blame her, it's really distressing and annoying and expensive when you get caught by the
01:13cabin baggage police but I'm afraid Ryanair is in the right. I've got a cabin bag which
01:20sort of squidges into those frames but I know if it ever came to it where it didn't
01:26they would be perfectly entitled to charge me money. I think I would probably at that stage
01:31start throwing away things like socks rather than having to pay extra. So please comply
01:38with the rules, they are serious. Sorry, it's really really tough.
