00:00Sustainability
00:06I'm going to talk for a moment about the word sustainability.
00:09This word didn't exist 20 years ago.
00:1310 years ago it was an important term.
00:17Today we talk about sustainability in companies every day.
00:22Sustainability is something that is no longer
00:27just a competitive advantage, who does it better.
00:30Today, if you don't do it well and you don't make it known,
00:33you can't work.
00:35Today sustainability is a condition of existence.
00:39That's why we talk about it so much
00:41and companies are very focused on sustainability.
00:46Sustainability is not about a department,
00:49it's about the whole industry and it's about the supply chain.
00:53What exists before the industry and what exists after the industry.
00:58And this allows to give real advantages
01:04to the environment and to the consumer.
01:07Sustainability derives, first of all,
01:09from a mentality about sustainability.
01:13It must be a mentality that wants,
01:17for different reasons, sustainability.
01:20And that's where it all starts.
01:22Sustainability manages to develop and feed itself
01:27if it manages to create an economic value.
01:32If it manages to create an economic value,
01:35then sustainability can feed itself
01:39and have a virtuous circle.
01:42If sustainability is based exclusively
01:45on contributions of various kinds,
01:48then it's a stupid sustainability that stops sooner or later.
01:52We must be able to create a sustainability
01:56that goes on on its own,
01:58that yields to companies and yields to the system.
02:02And this is the real victory.
02:04An example of sustainability at the level of a company
02:07and at the level of a supply chain.
02:09But at the level of a company,
02:11if a company manages to give value to its waste in various ways,
02:16this is already sustainability.
02:19Because instead of throwing out something that has no value,
02:24even if it's polluting,
02:26this something is recovered in a profitable way inside.
02:30In this specific case, if we are good, if we are capable,
02:33we are able to reduce the environmental impact
02:37to the external world
02:39and to create value inside, in the company's accounts.
02:43This is also true for our suppliers,
02:46the farmers, for example.
02:48If the farmers are able to use good fertilizers,
02:52sometimes from circular economies,
02:57then they can also do their part.
03:01So, if in our case the agricultural world does its part
03:05and we do ours,
03:07we can have a profitable supply chain
03:11for the consumers of the environment.
03:13This is our way of thinking.
