00:00I have robbed you of your dreams, of England, of Valhalla.
00:05If you feel I have wronged you, brother, I will make it right.
00:10Welcome to Mojo Plays.
00:11And today, we're ranking the ending of all 13 major entries in the Assassin's Creed franchise.
00:18Be warned, there are massive spoilers ahead.
00:21None of what you are saying makes sense.
00:24Our words are not meant for you.
00:27Before we begin, we publish new content all week long.
00:30So, be sure to subscribe and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:35Number 13. Assassin's Creed Odyssey
00:38You're a weed, trying to choke and destroy everything I've planted.
00:50And you know the best way to kill a weed?
00:56Is I do.
00:57Assassin's Creed Odyssey has several different endings depending on the player's choices.
01:02It wraps up multiple storylines from the game.
01:05Players can choose to reunite with their families and receive the happy family reunion ending.
01:10The cult of Kosmos is also eliminated and finally,
01:13Cassandra carries the staff of Hermes and meets Layla from the modern day.
01:17Know nothing.
01:21A good friend told me that once.
01:25Impossible.
01:29Cassandra?
01:30It feels anticlimactic and it's a small payoff for such a lengthy game.
01:35The modern day plotline is poorly executed with many feeling Layla lacked depth.
01:41It's also poorly paced.
01:43Feeling like it just suddenly speeds up and then abruptly finishes as soon as the payoff begins.
01:49Yeah.
01:52I'll murder them both.
01:56Yeah.
01:59Number 12. Assassin's Creed Unity
02:05The Queen of La Serre as well.
02:08This is quite the reunion.
02:10Stay hidden. Keep him talking.
02:12The main motivation behind Unity's plot is driven by Arno and Elise's desire to kill Germaine.
02:18The Templar Grandmaster in revolutionary France.
02:21Germaine becomes the final boss.
02:23But unfortunately, Arno's love interest, Elise, gets herself killed after recklessly rushing to kill Germaine herself.
02:31Elise! Elise!
02:34Elise!
02:40Her death felt rushed and pointless and didn't feel like a rewarding end to their storyline.
02:46Additionally, Germaine was an underdeveloped villain.
02:49And many felt Arno had little development in the entire game.
02:53The modern day plot was also lacking.
02:56Focusing on using Arno's memories to find the shroud before the Templars.
03:00However, it turns out he hid the shroud deep within the catacombs.
03:04So the whole game is rendered pointless.
03:07Since the Templars were never going to find it anyway.
03:10All that we do. All that we are.
03:14Begins and ends with ourselves.
03:29Mr. Starrick! You forgot to escort me home!
03:33Jacob and Evie Frye are the twin protagonists of Syndicate.
03:37Which concludes with them tag teaming against Crawford Starrick.
03:41The Templar Grandmaster in London.
03:43Working together in the final boss fight is great fun.
03:47But other than that, the ending was nothing special.
03:53Together!
03:58The pair are then knighted by Queen Victoria.
04:01And also recover the important shroud.
04:04Starrick is a fairly two dimensional villain with boring motivations.
04:08It's the most predictable ending in the series.
04:11Without a single major twist or surprise.
04:14And on top of this, the modern day plot has nothing to offer.
04:18It ends with a cliffhanger of Rebecca and Sean losing the shroud.
04:21And discovering Juno is sabotaging Abstergo.
04:25While it's gameplay was praised, it's story left a lot to be desired.
04:29You have played your part my instrument.
04:33I will save you. I will save you all.
04:49Bayek is a Medjay on a quest for revenge.
04:52Seeking to kill the Order of the Ancients.
04:55He and his wife Aya are the protagonists of Origins.
04:58But despite playing Bayek most of the game, you play as Aya for the ending.
05:02She goes to Rome where she assassinates Caesar and threatens Cleopatra.
05:07Then be the ruler our people deserve.
05:10Or nothing will save you from my blade across your throat.
05:14You are the last of the Pharaohs.
05:16The pair then begin training other Hidden Ones.
05:19Thus concluding the Assassin's Origin story.
05:21It lacks a satisfying end to Bayek's story.
05:24Instead focusing on the Hidden Ones rather than his personal journey.
05:28Driven by the death of his son.
05:30The modern day storyline is once again weak.
05:33Lacking any depth or engaging aspects.
05:36The rest of the game is phenomenal.
05:38But the ending feels disappointingly rushed.
05:41I am now the Hidden One.
05:43Known as Amunet.
05:51Father.
05:54Father.
06:01Valhalla's ending is the toughest to reach by a significant margin.
06:05Taking almost 100 hours for most players.
06:08The ending doesn't provide as much payoff as you'd hope.
06:11With quite a few common complaints.
06:14Sigurd.
06:16Ah, the hanged one awakes.
06:20Feet upon the ground once more.
06:22For instance, the shift in focus from Layla to Basim is abrupt.
06:26And feels like a rushed end for her chapter.
06:29Making the primary three characters Isu reincarnations.
06:32Which were also Odin, Loki and Tyr.
06:35Was a divisive move.
06:37And felt convoluted to many.
06:39The modern day plotline feels even more disconnected too.
06:42And many wonder if it should still exist.
06:45Eivor's story also lacked emotional depth.
06:48Leaving many unsatisfied by its payoff.
06:52You're less mine than I'm yours.
06:55And I ask of you only this.
06:58Keep me honest.
06:59In the times to come.
07:01Number 8.
07:02Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
07:04A cardinal revealed under stress.
07:06That Cesare plans to meet with Templar loyalists in the countryside.
07:11The cardinal departs for the meeting tonight.
07:14I will follow him.
07:15The final fight with Cesare in Brotherhood looks magnificent.
07:19And Ezio throwing him off the walls of a fortress.
07:21Is one of the most iconic moments in the franchise.
07:24In the modern day.
07:25Desmond and his team finally locate the Apple of Eden.
07:29Hidden in the Colosseum.
07:30When Desmond touches it.
07:32Juno arrives and forces him to stab Lucy.
07:39It is done.
07:41This cliffhanger was extremely controversial.
07:44Since Lucy was a fan favorite.
07:47It's also revealed in a Revelations DLC.
07:49That she was actually a Templar all along.
07:52Making the ending even worse in hindsight.
07:55Despite this.
07:56The game is widely acclaimed.
07:58And remains one of the most phenomenal entries in the series.
08:08Number 7.
08:09Assassin's Creed Mirage.
08:11Last chance.
08:18Very well.
08:21Mirage has an interesting ending.
08:23Which shows Basim coming to terms with his identity as Norse god Loki.
08:28And then getting access to Isur technology.
08:31It also reveals that Nahal never existed all along.
08:34And was just a mirage of Loki.
08:36Which is one of Ubisoft's more creative ending twists.
08:40Despite it's predictability.
08:42And there you were.
08:44All this time.
08:48Beside of me I resisted.
08:50This ties into Valhalla wonderfully well.
08:53Setting Basim up as the villain of the game.
08:56And explaining his desire to take revenge on Odin.
08:59Some still dislike this ending.
09:01Mainly on account of it's reliance on Isur lore.
09:04And reincarnation plots.
09:06And it detracts from the grounded historical narrative.
09:09That the series tends to focus on.
09:11Should any of them still walk the earth.
09:15I so look forward to our reunion.
09:22I do not understand.
09:24Nor need you.
09:26Only do as we ask.
09:29Then you may do as you wish.
09:32Following both the plots of Connor.
09:34A Native American assassin.
09:36And Desmond.
09:37The ending to this game was simultaneously amazing and abysmal.
09:41The conclusion to Connor's plot line is remarkable.
09:44It's a gripping tale of failure.
09:46Which ends with Connor realizing the government he fought for.
09:50Doesn't respect his people's rights.
09:52He then buries his medallion.
09:54In a tragic and iconic moment for the series.
09:57Save one.
09:59Your touch.
10:00A spark.
10:02A spark to save the world.
10:04Wait!
10:05Desmond's ending is much worse.
10:07Since he sacrifices his life to save earth.
10:10But releases Juno.
10:11His death felt anticlimactic after five games of development.
10:15And the modern day plot line has only meandered since.
10:19Juno's story was only concluded in the comics too.
10:22Which barely anyone read.
10:24It's one of the most memorable endings in the series.
10:27Despite being so divisive.
10:29It's some sort of global Aurora Borealis.
10:32Never seen anything like this before.
10:34Number five.
10:35Assassin's Creed.
10:37I found proof.
10:39Proof of what?
10:42That nothing is true.
10:44And everything is permitted.
10:47The first game culminates with a series of revelations.
10:51Such as Al Mualim's betrayal.
10:53His plan to use the Apple of Eden.
10:55And the fight between him and Altair.
10:57After defeating his master.
10:59Altair tries to destroy the Apple.
11:01But instead opens a map revealing other hidden pieces of Eden.
11:05In the modern day.
11:07Desmond receives a warning from the mysterious Subject 16.
11:11Hinting at a larger conspiracy on the horizon.
11:14The hell were they keeping here before me?
11:17And what happened to him?
11:19This cliffhanger intrigued a lot of players.
11:22But others felt it became convoluted.
11:24Especially when Subject 16 and Juno got involved.
11:28Despite these complaints.
11:30It does a remarkable job of discussing complex themes.
11:33Such as power, free will and control.
11:36Providing a memorable conclusion.
11:38Let's go.
11:40We've got a lot of work to do.
11:42Number four.
11:43Assassin's Creed Rogue.
11:45You.
11:47You're the traitor.
11:52I'm just finishing old business.
11:54Rogue is the only entry where you play as a Templar.
11:57Shay Cormac.
11:59And the only one where they succeed.
12:01Killing Arno's father and taking the Precursor Box.
12:04His arc was a fresh perspective in the narrative.
12:07And his transition from Assassin to Templar is a unique twist.
12:11Never share our secrets.
12:13Nor divulge the true nature of our work.
12:16Do so until death.
12:19It's fascinating because it shows the Assassins aren't always the heroes.
12:23And portrays their morals in a new perspective.
12:26With Shay questioning their eagerness to resort to violence.
12:29Shay's journey ends where Arno's begins.
12:32Which makes Rogue and Unity feel more connected than other titles.
12:36Rogue stands out as one of the darkest entries in the series.
12:40With a fascinating ending.
12:42Join us and a bright future will be all yours.
12:48Refuse.
12:50Number three.
12:51Assassin's Creed 2.
12:53Always the fighter.
12:55Just like your father.
12:57Well rejoice my child.
12:59For you will see him again soon.
13:01Few games can match the epic scale and masterful character development of Assassin's Creed 2.
13:07Which ends with a dramatic series of events.
13:10After fist fighting the Pope, Rodrigo Borcha.
13:13Ezio obtains the final piece of the Apple of Eden.
13:16And then chooses to spare the life of the man who killed his family.
13:20Instead of letting revenge consume him.
13:22Killing you won't bring my family back.
13:26I'm done.
13:28Juno also appears.
13:30And speaks to Desmond through Ezio.
13:33Linking the two timelines.
13:35It's blend of historical events with mythological phenomena.
13:38Such as Juno and the Isu.
13:40Resonated with many fans.
13:42And set up the complex lore that would be focused on for the rest of the series.
13:47The rest is up to you.
13:49Desmond.
13:51What?
13:52Who is Desmond?
13:54Number two.
13:55Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag.
13:57Then it's up to us to recover them.
13:59Before the Templars catch wind of this.
14:02You could join us in that cause.
14:04I will.
14:06Only after I fix what I mangled back home.
14:09Edward finally learns to embrace the Assassin's order.
14:12After a long journey that completely transforms his character.
14:16In its last moments.
14:17Edward learns of his wife's unfortunate passing.
14:20And meets his daughter Jennifer.
14:22Who he sails home to England with.
14:24He vows to continue the fight against the Templars.
14:27With his days as a pirate coming to an end.
14:30Will you stay with the Assassins?
14:33No, I haven't got that kind of conviction in my heart.
14:39You?
14:40In time, I.
14:42He has one of the best arcs of any Assassin.
14:46Transitioning from a selfish pirate to someone committed to the order.
14:50Overall, this is one of the most satisfying endings in the franchise.
14:53Discussing themes of redemption, legacy and consequences.
15:08Number 1.
15:09Assassin's Creed Revelations
15:11Hold on.
15:14Hang on Sofia.
15:15Look out.
15:19It would be almost impossible to top Revelations ending.
15:22Which brings Ezio's story to a beautiful conclusion.
15:26It's celebrated for its emotional depth.
15:28Showing Ezio's discovery of Altair's library.
15:31And deciding to leave it untouched.
15:34No books.
15:36No wisdom.
15:39Just you.
15:40You, my brother.
15:43This is symbolic of how much Ezio has grown since the first game.
15:47And he shows he's finally accepted a peaceful life.
15:50He says farewell to Desmond and gives up his weapons.
15:53Symbolizing his desire to strive away from violence.
15:56Ezio then retires, beginning his new life with Sofia, his love interest.
16:01It provides a satisfying outcome to Ezio's tale.
16:04And is, without a doubt, the greatest ending in the series.
16:09Who are we?
16:10Who have been so blessed?
16:12To share our stories like this.
16:15To speak across centuries.
16:17How would you rank the endings of the Assassin's Creed series?
16:20Let us know down in the comment section.
16:23Let's get going, huh?
16:25A few billion timelines might take a while.
16:27Thanks for watching.
16:28If you enjoyed the video, there's more where that came from.
16:38See you next time.
