00:00We focus on the ACC Miami, one loss this year against Georgia
00:11Tech a few weekends ago, a bye week to get things figured out
00:16and to get things back on track. We see guy the Canes back at
00:19home today in South Florida, 24 and a half point favorite
00:23against Wake Forest. We'll talk ACC implications in just a
00:27matter of moments. Let's start with the game. Wake, not great
00:31this year, Miami trying to figure things out and get back
00:35into the wind column expected to do so rather comfortably. Just
00:38how easy is it for Miami?
00:40Well, I think it's easy in the sense I don't think they'll be
00:42threatened enough. But I do like the 24 and a half with Wake
00:46Forest because their offense can move the football putting up
00:48well over 27 points per game. Hank Bachmeier, a veteran
00:52quarterback, 14 touchdowns, six interceptions, Wake Forest
00:56averaging 257 through the air and they're pretty good on the
00:59road three and one overall straight up record. There's a
01:02lot of pressure on Miami right to actually win this game. And
01:06again, we've seen them play down to level of calm earlier in the
01:09year we saw it a couple weeks ago against Georgia Tech. They
01:12allowed Duke to go for three, three and a half quarters before
01:15they pulled away. Now you're asking them to basically win by
01:19four touchdowns. I mean, that is a huge ask. Wake Forest still
01:22playing for bowl contention, right to get to six and six on
01:26Miami wins. Give me the 24 and a half that what I'm struggling
01:30with guys is the 67 and a half. Can we get there? Because both
01:35offenses statistically can get there. But Miami might play this
01:39a little bit closer, knowing that they have to win this game.
01:41So Eileen Miami, one thing that I noticed is a dropping number
01:46today has actually been Cam Ward's Heisman price. I think
01:50that must be people remembering that he's playing again for the
01:53first time in a week or so. Yeah, he also, by the way, to me
01:56should actually win the Heisman trophy if the season ended
01:59today. But that's, again, we'll see how things play out. For me.
02:04I love Damien Martinez here. I think this is such a great spot
02:09to back what is one of the you know, remember when they brought
02:13in war, it was Ward and Martinez. Yeah, right. And
02:15obviously, I know what Ward has been. Damien got off to a really
02:18slow start before their first, their first bye week six games
02:224.4 yards per carry the last four 7.3 yards per carry 96 per
02:29game. Now off another bye week against a wake team getting
02:33about comparable opponents Ole Miss Henry Parrish for a buck
02:3632 Clemson Phil Mafa over 100 yards as well. I think Martinez
02:42today Ben just absolutely smashes the 77 and a half. He got
02:46Belkow level work in that because you know, I don't love
02:49those complicated backfields. He got all the work against Georgia
02:51Tech. I think he's the guy way more than Fletcher in part of
02:54that reason, Joe, that I actually think the Hurricanes
02:57might approach 67 and a half or help this game get there is
03:01because Miami knew that they were playing with a little bit
03:04of fire perhaps in the undefeated start the cardiac
03:07canes for a reason, a great second half team, but slow
03:10starts in the opening half cannot and should not happen
03:13today against the Wake Forest defense that allows 282 passing
03:18yards per game. That's bottom five in all of college football
03:21and to your point about Cam Ward outside of the FSU game that
03:25was an anomaly 304 yards at bare minimum multiple passing
03:31touchdowns in the nine other games three plus passing
03:34touchdowns in eight of the nine. What is Ward's number today
03:37against the Demon Deeks? It's 357 and a half. It is one of the
03:42reasons I love Xavier Restrepo in that first half. Anytime
03:45touchdown prop. He's got ten receiving scores this year,
03:48four in the last two because I do not expect Miami to try to
03:52battle back in the second half after a lackluster start. I
03:55think they start early and often. Yeah, I think man again
03:59three was 351 and a half. Yeah, it's seven and a half. I mean,
04:02it's just to me. He is if I tell you he wins out wins the
04:07ACC. Yes. Does he still need help in that Genti or Hunter
04:14lose football games? Yeah, you see I think the thing here's
04:18the I would put Ward definitely over Genti in my opinion. He's
04:21been he's been I mean the best player on his team and you can't
04:25even mention Miami at nine and one without Cam Ward being in
04:28the conversation right. You could say they might have three
04:31losses on the year if it wasn't for Cam Ward. I would just
04:34argue you also could not mention state at nine and one
04:36without Genti on a historic. Agreed, but I'm I'm just saying
04:39the quarterback position for me, you know, it's we hold so
04:43much value at the NFL and obviously college level in the
04:47Heisman as well that we haven't seen the love for the
04:49running backs just yet right II still think it's hunters. I
04:54really do. I mean Hunter would have to fall off a cliff. I
04:56mean the type of numbers that that he's putting up and
04:59defensively to go unnoticed, but I would say on Hunter and
05:04this is where I'm trying to try because I'm trying to figure
05:06this out. Yeah. He is again the biggest star in the sport by
05:10like a lot. I wonder how much of his number is reflective of
05:14the handle that has been put on that versus what's going to
05:18happen because man I've been ear to the ground. I'm not
05:21saying there wouldn't be Hunter voters. There are also some
05:24people who are like this kid's not in my race. He's not the
05:28best corner in football. He's a star. We know that, but there
05:32are some for lack of a better phrase haters when it comes to
05:36Hunter and I wonder if that price is more reflective of
05:38action than perception.
