A 32-year-old lorry driver was detained following an accident, which killed a motorcycle rider in front of a mall at Jalan Kerinchi.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident occurred at 8.34am on Saturday (Nov 23).

00:22He said the lorry driver was refilling the vehicle's brake oil at a construction site
00:26when the lorry suddenly reversed, smashing through the site's security gate.
00:30The lorry then went into the main road and hit the 32-year-old rider.
00:35In a viral video, the rider was seen attempting to avoid the lorry but failed, resulting in
00:41him being thrown underneath one of its tyres.
00:44The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
00:46ACP Zamzuri said another man, who was also driving his car on the same road, sustained
00:51a minor injury on his forehead.
00:54The lorry driver has been detained for further investigation and the case is classified under
00:59Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
