00:00Christmas is nearly coming, Dudley Town Hall, it's that lovely time of the year
00:04for a little sip of beer. What's happening Matt? Yeah we're running the
00:07Dudley Winter Owls Fair, it's run by CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Owl. We're
00:12running at the Town Hall in Dudley Town Centre on St. James's Road from Thursday
00:17until Saturday where you'll be able to try over 90 choices of beer or cider.
00:24Wow, what's the favourite tipple that you'll be looking forward to coming to the fest?
00:28I think it's gonna have to be Snowflake, one of our favourite choices, it
00:32was the winner of the Great British Beer Festival Winter. Yeah. So we've
00:37got lots on, we're keeping some back for Friday and Saturday, so if you aren't
00:41able to make Thursday, hopefully there'll be some choices for you there as well.
00:45Cool, and winter ales tend to be darker ale, is that right? Absolutely yeah, lots
00:49of dark ales, but there's still a variety of choices, so whatever your
00:53tastes, I'm sure we can meet it. Yeah. Is there any entertainment on at all? We're
00:58running entertainment both Friday during the evening and Saturday as well, a
01:03range of bands, we've got a great chorus appearing who were with us last year,
01:07they're with us on Friday night. Thursday, a bit of a quiet night, but at
01:10least still there's choices of food throughout. It's a proper good annual
01:14fixture on the calendar, how many years have you been going here at the Town Hall?
01:17At least 23 years, we have run at Netherton Arts Centre many years back,
01:22but this has been our fixture for many years at the Town Hall. It's a great
01:25venue, everyone always says how much they enjoy it and we're really looking forward
01:29to running it. And it's just a great opportunity to have a little sample of
01:32new drinks isn't it, you know, there's a bit of everything going on, isn't it, some
01:35interesting flavours. Absolutely and the great thing is you can order drinks in
01:39pints, halves or thirds. Perfect. For me, thirds are really good because at least it
01:45gets you to try more samples, so more of the good stuff without getting too
01:49squiffy. And how are we doing in the Black Country Brewing? There's been a
01:52couple of microbreweries closed that I've heard of, but we've just been
01:55featuring local breweries in the Express and Star. We've still got a healthy
01:59kind of scene? We are in a really fortunate position here in the Black
02:02Country. Within the branches of Canberra, we have the largest concentration of
02:08brewers in the area across the country, so we're still doing well and certainly
02:13if you come along to the Town Hall, you'll be able to try some of those with us.
02:16The background team there will be helping on the day. Can we get a cheers guys?
02:21Cheers!
