"The Last of Us" star Bella Ramsey is opening up about her gender identity and ignoring the haters.

00:09the hit HBO series received a number of negative reviews and reactions. The PlayStation game on
00:13which the show is based heavily relies on LGBTQ plus characters, which was further expanded in
00:18the HBO adaptation. Ramsey, who identifies as non-binary, plays a queer teen surviving the
00:23apocalypse. In fact, she revealed that she wore a chest binder 90% of the time while filming the
00:28show. When asked about the criticism the show has received from some, Ramsey told GQ quote,
00:32I know people will think what they want to think, but they're going to have to get used to it. If
00:36you don't want to watch the show because it has gay storylines, because it has a trans character,
00:40that's on you and you're missing out. Ramsey added the backlash doesn't worry her quote,
00:44I'm not particularly anxious about it. It isn't going to make me afraid. I think
00:47that comes from a place of defiance.
