00:00In one night alone, the North American continent experienced at least seven different natural
00:04disasters or extreme weather events. So what all happened the night of June 14th?
00:09Brute can explain in less than 60 seconds. First, a massive flash flood made its way through
00:13Yellowstone National Park in Montana, destroying many roads and bridges along its path. Next,
00:19a freak hailstorm, which looked like a winter snow, hit Mexico City, causing roadways to become
00:24impassable. A derecho, which is a very fast-moving thunderstorm that generates extensive damage
00:29and wind, tore through Fort Wayne, Indiana. Wind gusts reached 98 miles per hour and left
00:34thousands without power. Wildfires also destroyed parts of the western U.S. After winds helped its
00:40spread and triggered evacuations in Arizona and California. And wildfires are also affecting parts
00:46of Alaska, with over 600,000 acres burned. The state of Texas is experiencing an extreme heat
00:52wave, sending the demand for power to record levels. And finally, Lake Mead officially reached
00:57the lowest water levels on record.
