What do you look for in skin care labels? 👀

The Indian millennial wants a lot more from their skin care products. Brut finds out what checks their boxes. ✅

00:30I think one of the most important shifts that I have seen is that people have started looking

00:51for if the product is vegan.

00:55A lot of the ingredients that are there in your skin care products can come from animal

01:00sources, different parts of animal bodies.

01:03So vegan products, vegan ingredients are something which have nothing to do with animals at any

01:10level of the product formulation, be it the ingredients or be it the final product.

01:15Beauty should not hurt animals.

01:17Cruelty-free has to mean that any of the ingredients that are there in your skin care

01:27product, they've not been tested on animals and even the final product, say it's a face

01:32wash or it's a moisturizer, the final product has also not been tested on animals.

01:38Whenever I'm browsing for a new product, a new brand, I always check on the label or

01:42on Google if the brand is cruelty-free worldwide or not.

01:45If a brand is not cruelty-free worldwide, I am not going to use it.

01:50I found out that the only sustainable way ahead is if we incorporate products in our

01:56skin care routine, which are cruelty-free.

02:04You'll be very surprised to know, a lot of comments and DMs that I still receive on my

02:09Instagram page are to recommend products which are more towards the natural side of ingredients.

02:29I like to go for the plant and natural ingredients if they are properly formulated

02:34in a skin care product that is made in lab and properly tested for my kind of skin.

02:40Turmeric is something which I've seen people in my house of different generations trying

02:49out on their skin, on my skin.

02:52But what I realized over these years of doing DIYs is that you cannot control the amount

02:59of ingredients that are going in that.

03:01So, there was a conscious shift, I'd say, that I made in my daily skin care was to try

03:08products which have been very carefully formulated in laboratories.

03:23I think I'll be open to trying this product from Bico because the brand says they are

03:27cruelty-free, they are vegan.

03:29The trust factor that is there with the brand, with a lot of the other products that the

03:34brand has had.

03:35Turmeric as an ingredient in a skin care product, I'd definitely be happy to give it a try.
