00:00Most importantly, I think it's important to go through a phase where you are failing
00:04because only when you pick up the stones and move on in life, you become much more strong.
00:09Filmmakers who come to you at that point of time,
00:11you know exactly that they're coming to you for your talent and not because you're a star.
00:30You have to go through a phase where you are failing because only when you pick up the stones and move on in life, you become much more strong.
00:37You have to go through a phase where you are failing because only when you pick up the stones and move on in life, you become much more strong.
01:00It was a film that I was doing after probably giving five, six flops.
01:14And it was a very, very important film for me.
01:16And it was a film that I really believed in.
01:18It was a script that really, really moved me.
01:21And so I think I looked at the film in a very different way.
01:26I was in it because I believed in it.
01:28And I really wanted to give it my best shot as I do for all my films.
01:33But with you, when you went through those consistent failures and you had seen the high, I mean...
01:38And I'd seen the low also.
01:39Yeah, but like the high that you saw, you know, you had constant successes, acclaim, applause, awards.
01:44And then to see commercial failure, what did you really go through, Rani, at that time?
01:48Because you went completely silent in that zone.
01:50Yeah, because I guess if you are a strong person, you have to go through it with as much dignity as you went through your higher times.
01:57When you were probably doing very well.
02:00And I think it's a great period because you get to know your inner strength.
02:03Right.
02:04And you get to know your true friends.
02:06And genuinely, you do realize who are there for you and who are not.
02:10Right.
02:11And most importantly, the filmmakers who come to you at that point of time,
02:16you know exactly that they're coming to you for your talent and not because you're a star.
02:19Right.
02:20And I think that was a turning point in my life.
02:24Because as I say, the kind of respect UTV and Vikas and Raj gave me at that point of time, they really didn't need to.
02:32Right.
02:33But I guess they came to me because they really respected my talent.
02:35And that was something I really, really liked.
02:38Not that there were others who didn't, but I'm naming them because that's the film that I'm done.
02:42That you're a part of.
02:43And most importantly, I think it's important to go through a phase where you are failing.
02:49Because only when you pick up the stones and move on in life,
02:52you become much more stronger.
02:53Because how much can you be pulled down?
02:55Right.
02:56You know, there will be a time where you are going to rise up and you are going to go.
02:59And if you're truly talented, you will.
03:01Yeah, and the point is that if you don't, that means you weren't strong enough in the first place.
