00:06her threat to President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

00:24As a democratic country, we need to uphold the rule of law.

00:29I, as the head of the Executive Department, and all those in charge of the government,

00:36have sworn an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution and our laws.

00:44Therefore, it is wrong to stop the law-abiding citizens from seeking the truth.

00:51This was the statement of President Ferdinand Marquez Jr. regarding Vice President Sara Duterte's threat to her,

01:00First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

01:05The President gave this statement and insisted that the law should be upheld.

01:10The President insisted, instead of answering and inviting the Congress,

01:14he also assured that despite this, he will continue to serve as President of the country.

01:20Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Investigation will arrest Vice President Sara Duterte

01:26after she threatened the President's family.

01:30In a press conference in Malacanang, NBI Director Jaime Santiago said that Facebook has allowed their request

01:39to preserve the video of the Vice President's threat

01:43and is now looking for the person ordered by Duterte to lead the assassination plot.

01:49The National Bureau of Investigation will do everything it can to preserve her identity

01:58including issuing a subpoena to Vice President Sara Duterte

02:04who confronted the NBI to clarify her statements.

02:11Because she said directly that she will take the person,

02:16that she will do the assassination, not only to the President,

02:21but also to the First Lady and the Speaker of the House.

02:25The NBI will conduct an investigation.

02:28In the past, they passed the statement of the Vice President that she will behead the President.

02:34They will take this seriously because this is just a threat to the President's life.

02:40Andres also insisted that even if there is no crime,

02:44the person ordered by Vice President Duterte will abide by the law

02:49in colluding with the President, the First Lady, and the Speaker of the House.

02:55Right now, we are open to all possible crimes.

02:58And we are not looking at one particular offense, criminal offense.

03:03But as I said, definitely there will be criminal and other legal liabilities

03:09that will be enforced against the plotters and those who will execute it and those who took part in it.

03:17First, the Vice President is not immune from suit.

03:21She can be the subject of any criminal administrative case

03:27and the ombudsman also has authority to do its duty to discipline and to take necessary measures.

03:36According to the NBI, they did not immediately arrest the Vice President because they still respect her.

03:43Vice President Duterte was given five days to face the NBI.

03:48We are giving her a chance, due process, to answer what she is being asked.

03:56This is by way of subpoena.

03:59The DOJ ordered the impeachment of the Vice President in the House of Representatives.

04:05According to Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Dong-Gonzalez,

04:09the threat to the President's life is a signal that a country cannot lead.

04:16Senate President Francis Escudero urged Vice President Sara Duterte

04:23to be patient with the public's statements.
