00:00When you did Bhakshak, when you do films which are political in nature,
00:04the politics always interests me.
00:06What is the filmmaker trying to say?
00:09What is the actor?
00:11Does it change you?
00:12I mean, this Bhakshak was a very important film
00:16and it made a lot of valid points and all of that,
00:22which, I mean, whoever's seen the film knows.
00:24But how did it change you as a person?
00:26And my first question is, what would you tell a 20-year-old?
00:29Basically, he's asking what you would tell yourself three years ago.
00:3220-year-old, right?
00:34Yes!
00:36I think I would just tell my younger self that
00:42don't give up.
00:44You know, it's tough,
00:46but whatever you're thinking is correct.
00:48You always had a plan and you've stuck to it
00:52and you're doing well.
00:55Because I say this time and again that where I am
00:58was a part of a larger plan, a larger dream
01:01that I thought of when I was very young.
01:04And nothing has touchwood till now gone off track.
01:07Yes, there are bad days, good days,
01:10films work, films don't work,
01:12there are extreme highs and extreme lows,
01:15but the end goal is to leave behind a legacy of films,
01:18work with filmmakers and do content that I'm very, very proud of
01:23and that's exactly what I'm doing.
01:24I was very, very clear that I want to create a space for myself
01:28where I'm irreplaceable.
01:31The movies that I do,
01:34I create a space for myself and a niche for myself
01:36which would be very tough to break.
01:41And I think I'm somewhere there, somewhere I've created that
01:46and I'm just very, very proud of my film,
01:50of the films that I've been associated with.
01:53So, Younger Bhoomi, it was her idea,
01:57it was her planning and plotting that I am here today.
02:00So, I'm very proud of her.
02:02Are you still a hustler?
02:03I'm a hustler max.
02:05There's no other way, there's no other way to be
02:07because when you don't really come from padding,
02:11this is your biggest support.
02:14And I'm very, I am a hustler
02:16and hustling is the best thing that you can do.
02:18Hustlers make it.
02:24Can you second myself?
02:26That how did Bhakshak change me?
02:27It actually, so you know when the script came to me,
02:30I said no because I was nervous.
02:33I was like, I don't know if I can take this on
02:36because it was too much.
02:38And it was after six months of being extremely disappointed with myself,
02:43I went back to my director, Pulkit,
02:45and I told him, please tell me you've still not cast the film
02:48and they were just about to take it to some other actor.
02:51And he said, no, I haven't.
02:52I said, please just let me be a part of it
02:54because I will be guilt-ridden
02:56if I don't get an opportunity to be a part of the story.
03:01I think the way it changed me is that
03:04for the first time I was doing a film that was,
03:06it broke my, it breaks my heart to even say it,
03:09but it was inspired from a very gruesome reality
03:13and that reality is still very active.
03:16And just to even imagine
03:20that there were kids that went through everything
03:25that I was reading in a script is something,
03:29it's very heavy.
03:30I don't think that will ever be,
03:32that will ever leave me,
03:34all the information that I went through
03:35when I was researching the film,
03:37that would ever leave me.
03:38And I, anyways, I'm very empathetic
03:40and I feel Bhakshak has just turned me into
03:43somebody who wants to leave behind
03:46a way larger impact through my work.
03:49I think I was anyways on that path,
03:51but by doing a Bhakshak,
03:52it's given me a lot more clarity
03:54of what the next decade for me is going to be like.
03:57I'm not chasing projects.
03:58I'm only chasing stories
04:00and stories that impact in every genre.
04:04More power to you.
04:05More power to you.
04:05Well done.
