Foreign-controlled businesses account for 15% of jobs in the EU with Luxembourg, Poland, and Slovakia having the highest share of employment.

00:00Foreign-controlled enterprises have a significant impact on the EU economy,
00:04even though they make up just 1% of all market producers.
00:13Despite their small numbers, foreign-controlled businesses contributed a substantial 24%
00:19of the total value added in the EU's business sector.
00:24Foreign-controlled enterprises had the highest value-added contributions in Ireland with 71%,
00:32followed by Luxembourg with 55% and Slovakia with 52%.
00:38In contrast, France, Germany and Italy saw much lower contributions,
00:44ranging from 16% to 17%.
00:49Foreign-controlled businesses account for 15% of jobs in the EU, including self-employed workers.
00:57Luxembourg, Poland and Slovakia had the highest share of employment,
01:02while countries like Greece and Cyprus had much lower rates.
01:07In 2022, the number of EU enterprises controlled by Russian entities fell by 11%, compared with 2021.
01:16On the other hand, enterprises controlled by Ukrainian institutions grew,
01:21with an increase of 8% in the number of businesses and 6% in the number of employees.
