00:00The Department of Agriculture, or DA, announced it is working to secure billions of dollars in
00:06foreign funding to further strengthen the country's agriculture sector, the Philippine
00:10News Agency reported. The DA is working with the World Bank on a $300 million SMSME access
00:18to finance a climate resiliency project. This funding will be in partnership with the DOF,
00:24DTI, Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation, Agricultural Credit Policy Council,
00:29and the Insurance Commission. The Asian Development Bank approved a $250 million
00:35solar irrigation project and a $140 million grant for infrastructure, including port installations,
00:41pipe irrigation, and aquaculture. The DA, in partnership with France,
00:46also plans to build 300 farm-to-market bridges across the country, with funding worth up 350
00:53million euros.
