00:00No, I don't agree with everything that Flushing puts out.
00:02Like I, I think it's it's good information.
00:05I think I read some of it with a grain of salt because it's so pro live
00:10that that sometimes I'd but this seems like a very well put
00:15written out thing that you just kind of
00:18told everybody here on all this.
00:19And, you know, it's the last thing he does say is, is that if a deal
00:24does not come soon, the DP World Tour is in big trouble
00:27and they will need their stars more than ever.
00:29Yes. So, oh, man.
00:37What do you think about that, right?
00:38Like, it just seems like DP World Tour is just in no man's land.
00:43I think they are.
00:45I think that, I mean, somebody's trying to lift them up
00:49and we're doing our best, but like, not really.
00:52It's like, hey, we're giving you ten cards, but we just don't want you guys
00:56to go and do a deal with live.
00:59I don't know how deals work with PGA Tour, you know,
01:02having an agreement with the PGA Tour, how hard that is
01:05to get out of agreement with the PGA Tour.
01:08I would imagine it would be difficult.
01:10They would probably have to pay a good bit to the tour
01:11to go do something with live.
01:14So it's interesting.
01:16It's interesting because it's like it's trying to it's almost like the DP
01:19World Tour has to look at this and and almost make a bet on which side
01:24they think is going to prevail long term.
01:26The establishment force and professional golf PGA Tour.
01:28It's been that way for a number of years or this upstart backed by a ton of money
01:33and quite honestly, whose goals align better with what the DP World Tour does.
01:38You know, the DP World Tour is a truly global tour
01:41playing on different continents.
01:42You know, lots of different events everywhere.
01:44You see them in Europe and Asia, you know, kicked off the season
01:48in Australia this week.
01:49So, I mean, to me, it kind of felt like a no brainer to align with live.
01:55But I also understand why they're looking at how the whole ecosystem operates
02:00and worrying about, you know,
02:03sanctions from different majors who are more PGA Tour aligned.
02:07I think maybe from the outset,
02:10there was more of a strong unified opposition to what live was
02:13and then we're seeing in today's day and age.
02:15And I would guess that if they'd known this is the way it was going to play out,
02:20they might have been more open and receptive to a deal with the PIF
02:23and with live.
02:25You know, do you arrive?
02:26OK, and we're going to get into this like way in depth this entire year
02:30talking about picking teams for the Ryder Cup.
02:33But don't you kind of feel like certain guys
02:38that have been, you know, big Ryder Cup players like Sergio and Ian Poulter?
02:43These are figures now that aren't quite as beloved as they once were
02:49and almost controversial at times
02:52that they would be more of a distraction than anything.
02:56Do you think that that Luke Donald will?
02:58You know, you got to show me a little bit more from the live guys.
03:02Like, it's not just a hey, you're going to get picked
03:05just because you've had success on the Ryder Cup.
03:08But part of me is like, wouldn't you just, you know,
03:11you just rolled out a team that didn't have any live guys and you won.
03:15Like, do you think that just from a team chemistry standpoint,
03:19like part of me gets him and we'll debate that and not like throughout
03:22the whole year, so you don't have to spend too much time on it.
03:25But just a thought.
03:26It's very curious.
03:28The strategy, the Sergio Garcia is pursuing here to me.
03:31I mean, I guess he could pay two, three million dollars in fines
03:35and not even get picked 100 percent.
03:38And I guess you can do that if you got paid a large bag by live to go over
03:42and you're looking at the totality of your earnings and savings saying,
03:46I'd be down to throw a million at this and to see if we get picked.
03:49And if we don't, OK, that's just part of the risk you take on.
03:52But if we do get picked, it was a strategy. It was well worth it.
03:55I mean, so, you know, my viewpoint on these things.
03:57I'd much rather see one of the Hoygaard brothers or another young European
04:02take one of the final spots on that team than a 44 year old Sergio Garcia.
04:08Like, I don't think that does much for for the European team.
04:10I think they're better served building the team for the future.
04:13Can you imagine paying two and a half million dollars in fines to be a vice
04:16captain?
