01:17This episode is a memorable one because our favorite on-screen pals,
01:21Joey and Chandler, are fighting over a girl.
01:24Chandler is being punished for kissing Joey's girlfriend
01:27by having to spend Thanksgiving in a box, naturally.

01:31He's fine.
01:32Meanwhile, Ross and Rachel have a feud of their own over an exchanged gift.
01:37Monica also starts dating Richard's son
01:39and invites him over to join the gang for their holiday dinner.
01:42Hey, you know, Mon, if things work out between you and Richard's son,
01:45you'll be able to tell your kids that you slept with their grandfather.
01:48Despite hitting a few rough patches,

01:52and come together for a touching Thanksgiving.

04:33After a series of mishaps causes the gang to be stuck together for the holiday
04:37when they'd all rather be somewhere else,
04:39they make the best of it and manage to celebrate
04:42even when all the food is ruined.

04:46The theme of being able to choose your own family
04:48that's present throughout the entire series
04:50was possibly established in this very episode.

04:59The one with Rachel's other sister.
05:01Monica is Ross's sister.
05:04No, Ross's sister was really fat.
05:06Another late season favorite,
05:08this episode features Rachel's sister Amy,
05:10played by Christina Applegate,
05:12who shows up at Thanksgiving and manages to do something awful to everyone.

05:20Applegate earned an Emmy for her guest performance
05:22and it's easy to see why.
05:25A hilarious subplot involves Joey realizing at the last minute
05:29that he's supposed to be on a float in the Thanksgiving Day parade
05:32with the rest of his co-stars.
05:33And here's the float with the stars of the popular daytime soap,
05:36Days of Our Lives.
05:40He turns to Phoebe for help,
05:42coming up with an excuse that's sure to have you in stitches.
05:46For an actor, Joey really isn't a convincing liar.
05:49Wasn't at the parade because I had a family emergency.
05:52Oh, what happened?
05:54Uh, my sister's raccoon came.

05:59The one where Ross got high.
06:02Look, look who it is! It's Chandler!
06:04Hi, of course. Hello, Chandler.
06:07The main storyline of this episode looks at why Monica and Ross's parents
06:11seem to have a deep-seated dislike for Chandler.
06:14Everything eventually comes to a head when the reason is revealed
06:17and we get to see a classic face-off between the two siblings.

06:26The real star of the show here, though, is the subplot
06:29where Rachel has given herself the task of making a dessert for the big day.

07:55Pitt plays Will, an old school friend of Ross and Monica's,
07:58who, like Monica, used to be very overweight.

08:06What makes this episode so great is the animosity between Will and Rachel,
08:11a dynamic that one can only imagine the actors had a blast shooting.
