00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at some of the most hilarious sidekicks, heroes,
00:12and even villains from some of our favorite Disney flicks.
00:15We won't be counting any live action or Pixar characters, since they're funny enough
00:18for their own lists.
00:26Number 20, Tigger, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
00:30The wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are humorous things.
00:44This tiger's energy is infectious, and his overconfidence is rib-tickling.
00:48He greets everyone he meets with a pounce, and doesn't waste any time turning their
00:52lives upside down.
00:58He might unintentionally get on his friend's nerves with his bouncing, but he just can't
01:02help himself.
01:03He's only doing what Tiggers do best.
01:06Now and then, even the highest bouncers need to be brought down to earth.
01:09Watching Tigger's cockiness get the better of him is just as amusing as his energy.
01:13He's the only Tigger there is, but if all Tiggers are as chaotic as he is, we should
01:17probably be lucky there's only one.
01:24Number 19, Prince John, Robin Hood.
01:27A conniving, greedy tyrant, Prince John steals the throne from the real King of England,
01:32his older brother.
01:33He excessively taxes his people, squeezing every cent they have, and goes above and beyond
01:37to try and kill Robin Hood.
01:45All this would make him a terrifying villain.
01:47If he wasn't a thumb-sucking mama's boy.
01:49We should be angry at all he's done to his subjects, but we're too busy laughing at
01:53him whining like a kitten when he doesn't get his way.
02:03It makes the moments where he means business almost seem surreal.
02:07Thankfully, Robin Hood tends to stay two steps ahead of the phony monarch.
02:18Number 18, Maximus, Tangled.
02:21Given the film's comedic tone, a number of characters in Tangled would be at home
02:24on this list.
02:25However, we're giving it to the one who got a chuckle out of us without speaking a
02:29single word, Maximus.
02:39As a member of the Royal Guard, this horse goes above and beyond to bring criminals to
02:43justice.
02:44He sets his sight on the thieving Flynn Rider.
02:46He offers some of the movie's best visual gags, and his interactions with the main cast
02:50have us in stitches.
02:57One minute he's hunting Flynn down like a bloodhound, the next, he's nuzzling up
03:01to Rapunzel like a puppy.
03:03Not to mention, his blossoming friendship with Flynn is hilariously heartwarming.
03:17Number 17, Dopey, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
03:21With seven dwarfs to choose from, which one tickled our funny bones the most?
03:35If we had to choose, we'd say the naivest of the bunch, Dopey.
03:39As his name suggests, Dopey isn't the brightest diamond in the mine.
03:47But what he lacks in words, he makes up for with riotous physical humor, especially when
03:52he goes toe-to-toe with a bar of soap.
03:54It doesn't hurt that he was allegedly inspired by the pantomime humor of Harpo Marx.
03:58While others like Doc and Grumpy aren't so keen on Dopey's brand of humor, we can't
04:02help but giggle at his innocence and antics.
04:05Number 16, Baymax, Big Hero 6.
04:09Many would probably benefit from having a friend like Baymax around.
04:12He's an inflatable robot designed to take care of Hero's health and well-being.
04:21But along with being genuinely wholesome, Baymax blesses us with plenty of giggle-worthy
04:26moments.
04:27He's generally an innocent, good-natured balloon.
04:29But personal space isn't his forte, and he doesn't really understand anything that
04:33isn't health-related.
04:39Though honestly, his version of a fist bump is more amusing than the real thing.
04:43He becomes hilariously lethargic when his battery runs low, and when he's trained
04:47to be a hero, it goes about as well as you'd expect.
04:58Despite these quirks, Baymax ends up being the hero we all desperately need.
05:03Number 15, Captain Hook, Peter Pan.
05:06He's undeniably the most reviled pirate in all of Neverland, and arguably the funniest.
05:19Captain Hook tries to present himself as a suave swashbuckler, and yet, he's an emotional
05:24mess with an explosive temper and a sniveling cowardice.
05:27We want to feel bad for him since he got his hand cut off by Peter Pan, but it's much
05:31more fun watching him throw a tantrum or squirm with fright.
05:34Besides, he's so expressive with these emotional outbursts that we're quick to start cracking
05:44up at his expense.
05:45It gets even funnier when Mr. Smee is thrown into the mix to give the poor captain an even
05:49worse headache.
05:55Number 14, Olaf, Frozen.
05:58Brought to life by Elsa's powers, Olaf entered the world bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, eager
06:03to give the world warm hugs.
06:05Contrary to what you might believe from his icy physique, Olaf's optimism is infectious
06:09and made even better by Josh Gad's voice acting.
06:21Along the way, he makes us snicker with funny observations and his childlike dream of having
06:26fun under the sun.
06:27We don't have the heart to tell him what happens to solid water when it gets warm.
06:39His sunny disposition is a delight and also makes the moments where he gives a snarky
06:43response that much funnier.
06:45Not to mention, he's got a hilarious talent for recapping the events of the first movie
06:49and many other Disney classics.
07:01Number 13, Vincenzo Vini Santorini, Atlantis The Lost Empire.
07:06Director Don Novello is well-known for his comedic character, Father Guido Sarducci.
07:17Imagine if Sarducci became a mercenary with a knack for explosions and deadpan snark,
07:22and you'd have Vini.
07:23A former florist whose life was changed following a freak explosion, his biggest passions in
07:28life are money and pyrotechnics.
07:34He may have done things he's not proud of, but even he has standards.
07:37He also has arguably the funniest lines in the whole movie.
07:50His one-liners are made even better by his dry delivery and thick accent, and his obsession
07:54with explosives makes him as dangerous as he is amusing.
07:58Number 12, Lumiere and Cogsworth, Beauty and the Beast.
08:02In the Beast's enchanted castle, you probably won't find a pair of friends as mismatched
08:06as Lumiere and Cogsworth.
08:08Lumiere is a suave, carefree, charming candelabra with an eye for romance and showmanship.
08:14Cogsworth is a wound-up, strict, and precise clock who demands to be taken seriously.
08:27Each is entertaining on their own, but when their personalities collide, we're left
08:31giggling all night.
08:33The way they argue and tease each other, they're more like siblings than co-workers.
08:42But at the end of the day, they do care for each other and share the same goal of becoming
08:46human again.
08:47However, even after the spell is broken, some things will never change.
08:57Number 11, Jack and Gus, Cinderella.
09:00One of the more entertaining subplots of this classic film is Cinderella's mousy friends
09:05and their conflict with Lady Tremaine's wicked cat, Lucifer.
09:08While both mice work well as a comic duo, it's Gus who steals the show thanks to his
09:12constant desire to eat.
09:19This makes Gus the target of Lucifer throughout the film.
09:22While their broken English provides plenty of humor, the fact that they can make the
09:25audience laugh without speaking shows how funny these two truly are.
09:37Number 10, Turk and Tantor, Tarzan.
09:41It's hard being the only human living in the jungle, but thankfully, Tarzan's got
09:44two best friends by his side, Turk and Tantor.
09:48The wise-cracking tomboy gorilla and the neurotic pachyderm make a great comedic pair.
09:53Despite Turk's snarky humor and Tantor's paranoia, both are hilarious in their own
09:57right.
10:03But of course, the real fun occurs when they bounce off each other, Turk not having the
10:07patience for Tantor's panicking and Tantor giving her a piece of his mind later on.
10:11Despite their glaring differences, they're the perfect twosome to help Tarzan out of
10:15a jam.
10:23Number 9, Scuttle, The Little Mermaid.
10:26While Sebastian's worrying nature offers plenty of humor throughout the film, it's
10:30Scuttle who provides the funniest comic relief.
10:40A self-proclaimed expert on the human world, Scuttle assigns ridiculous names to everyday
10:44objects.
10:45For example, he refers to a smoking pipe as a snarfblat.
10:49He also hilariously calls a fork a dinglehopper and convinces the naive Ariel that it is actually
10:54a comb.
11:04The most eccentric character in The Little Mermaid, Scuttle clearly lives by the fake-it-till-you-make-it
11:08mentality.
11:09Number 8, Goofy, A Goofy Movie.
11:12Given that he's one of Disney's most iconic characters, it was only a matter of time before
11:16Goofy got his very own movie.
11:18He's the friendliest dog you'll ever meet, and he loves his teenage son Max with all
11:22his heart.
11:25However, he's also a walking disaster whose clumsiness leaves a path of destruction wherever
11:33he goes.
11:34He also tends to embarrass Max with his eccentric personality and klutziness.
11:42Compared to his TV and short film appearances, A Goofy Movie shows a more serious side to
11:46the character, yet he still manages to make us laugh as only he can.
11:54Number 7, Baloo, The Jungle Book.
11:57If there's a more laid-back Disney character than this guy, we haven't yet found them.
12:01Baloo teaches Mowgli how to fight and to live a relaxing life with just the bare necessities.
12:16Baloo's attempts to rescue the man-cub from King Louie and the other primates are just
12:19as hysterical as they are successful.
12:22Although his antics are laugh-out-loud funny, Baloo is more than just comic relief.
12:29He also ultimately saves Mowgli's life at the end of the film, making him one of Disney's
12:33most popular characters.
12:39Number 6, Timon and Pumbaa, The Lion King.
12:57They say two is better than one, and that is certainly the case in The Lion King.
13:00Loosely based on Rosencrantz and Guildenstern from William Shakespeare's Hamlet, Timon
13:05and Pumbaa are the true stars of this film.
13:08One is a wise-cracking meerkat, while the other is an absent-minded and flatulent warthog.
13:25Their different personalities often cause them to clash with each other, much to the
13:28amusement of the viewer.
13:29While their dialogue is often quite hilarious, their funniest moments tend to involve some
13:33of song and dance.
13:46Number 5, Stitch, Lilo and Stitch.
14:01Characters in this film may not find Stitch's destructive antics funny, but we can't get
14:05enough of this little blue alien.
14:07Stitch is by far at his funniest when he is being bad, especially when he pretends he's
14:12Godzilla and ruins a model of San Francisco.
14:15His dysfunctional relationship with the adorable Lilo and her sister, Nani, also produces some
14:19of the funniest moments in the action-adventure-comedy-drama.
14:34Stitch's antics never get old, and his attempts to act good are both hilarious and heartwarming.
14:50Number 4, Hades, Hercules.
15:05The minions of Hades, Pain and Panic, provide plenty of comic relief throughout Hercules,
15:09but we're going with the big guy for this list.
15:12Voiced by the fast-talking James Woods, Hades is equal parts ruthless and priceless.
15:20To say he is temperamental is an understatement, as even the slightest inconvenience sends
15:25him into a fiery rage despite his humorous attempts to remain calm.
15:28For the older crowd, Hades drops several pop culture references, like noting that the Trojans
15:33bet on the wrong horse.
15:34Who would have thought the Lord of the Underworld could be such a down-to-earth guy?
15:53Number 3, Mushu, Mulan.
16:05Before Eddie Murphy made us grin as Donkey from DreamWorks' Shrek, he was helping Mulan
16:09save China as the powerful, the pleasurable, the indestructible Mushu.
16:15A disgraced guardian looked down on by the ancestors, Mushu will do anything to prove
16:19himself, including helping Mulan masquerade as a man and become a hero.
16:23Along with his harebrained schemes, what makes Mushu so funny is his smooth-talking, wise-cracking
16:28dialogue, mixed with his cocky attitude.
16:31While he starts off mostly in it for himself, he genuinely cares for Mulan and sticks by
16:44her until the end.
16:57We're choosing to ignore his unfortunate arc in Mulan 2, when he tries to ruin Mulan's
17:01marriage for his own goals.
17:03Number 2, Kronk, The Emperor's New Groove.
17:18This film isn't generally regarded as a Disney classic, but it does have one of the
17:21funniest characters in the Disney universe.
17:23While Emperor Kusko and his ridiculous catchphrases are entertaining, it's Kronk, Yzma's dimwitted
17:28advisor, who earns a spot on our list.
17:31At the start of the film, Kronk is technically a villain, although he is far from evil.
17:35He makes the most of his decisions by consulting an angel and a devil that appear on his shoulders,
17:40which are modeled as miniature versions of himself.
17:46Ultimately, he turns on Yzma because he discovers that she never liked his spinach puffs.

18:23Number 1.
18:24The Genie, Aladdin
18:34Was there any doubt who would be number one on our list?
18:37Sure, Iago has his moments, but it's the Genie who claims the top spot because of Robin
18:42Williams' unmatched antics.
18:44In fact, most of Williams' lines were ad-libbed, and the result couldn't have been better.
18:49Williams reels off one pop-culture reference after another and provides plenty of jokes
18:53geared at both younger and older viewers in Aladdin.
19:03As a result, the Genie has become one of the most iconic characters in all animation.
19:16Which Disney character made you laugh the hardest?
