The Saudi Central Bank ( #SAMA ) has introduced a number of services to meet the needs of Hajj pilgrims, making transactions easier.
Pilgrims can use their international bank cards to make payments and withdraw cash during their stay in the Kingdom.
About 110 bank branches, including temporary and mobile branches, will operate at Hajj locations, while 36 branches will operate across the country during #Eid-ul-Azha holidays. The Saudi Central Bank has also provided 1,220 ATMs and point-of-sale terminals, including 633 in Makkah, 19 mobile devices at Hajj sites and 568 in Madinah. Hajj pilgrims can use #ATMcards issued by their local banks to make payments or withdraw cash through the Kingdom's national payment system. This includes international payment networks such as Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay, Discover, American Express and The Gulf Payments and Afaq Network. In addition to these services, the Saudi Central Bank has issued banknotes and coins of various denominations worth more than five billion riyals at its branches in Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah. SAMA is monitoring the daily cash flow in the kingdom.
