00:00Next month marks two years since the death of Cody Fisher, a young man from my constituency
00:08of Stratford-on-Avon. Cody was a talented footballer with a bright future whose life
00:15was tragically cut short when he was stabbed in a nightclub in Birmingham. His mother,
00:22Tracy, has been campaigning tirelessly, in his memory, for legislation which would require
00:28venues to wear bleed kits and metal detectors. In the light of the Government's commitment
00:34to tackling knife crime, will the Prime Minister meet Tracy and me to discuss these vital proposals
00:40to better protect young people like Cody from the devastating impact of knife crime?
00:46I thank the hon. Member for Stratford-on-Avon for raising the tragic case and pay tribute
00:53to Tracy for her campaigning. I have met a number of families on this issue of bleed
00:57kits, so I know first-hand just how important it is. We are taking measures in relation
01:02to knife crime, which includes banning the sale of online knives, making them less available,
01:08and of course taking young people out of offending where we can, and real penalties. I am happy
01:14to look at bleed kits, and I will make sure that she gets a meeting with the relevant
01:18Minister to hear more of what we are doing, but also to make her case.
