Dame Andrea Jenkyns has joined Reform UK and will stand as the party’s candidate for mayor of Greater Lincolnshire. Leader Nigel Farage praised Jenkyns, saying she had long felt the Conservative Party’s leadership choices were not in line with her values. Farage emphasised Reform UK’s goal of becoming the main opposition to Labour, welcoming other Conservatives but warned against bringing internal party divisions. Report by Covellm. 00:00I have known Andrea Jenkins for years. We campaigned together to
00:03try and get Brexit completed. She stood as a Conservative and didn't
00:06make it. She said to me some time ago that she felt that if Kenny
00:11Bednock became the next leader of the Conservative Party and not
00:13Robert Jenrick, then that party had made its choice and we were the
00:16logical place to come. I am delighted to have Andrea Jenkins
00:20joining us, standing for us. She will run to be Mayor of Greater
00:24Lincolnshire. That on a day when we have gone through 100,000 paid-up
00:28Yeah, we are in very good spirits. We are here to replace the
00:31Conservatives as the main opposition to Labour. That is our
00:33goal. If other Conservatives want to join, that's great. But if
00:37they want to bring with them the infighting and bitterness that have
00:40so characterised the Conservative Party over the last few years,
00:43they can stay where they are.
