00:00Charlie, looking at Wolves and star man Mateus Cunha, he's started this Premier League season fantastically well.
00:08An amazing sort of run of games and getting him going and obviously some fantastic performances as well for the side.
00:15And Gary O'Neill sort of took a bit of credit for the way he's improved Cunha.
00:21And across social media there's a lot of Wolves fans sort of mentioning O'Neill's impact on him.
00:28And when you look at it, O'Neill has had a fantastic impact.
00:31He's sort of moved him into that 10 role, that position of false 9, 10, where he has more space on the ball to turn and assist and shoot from range as well,
00:40which he's been doing fantastically well.
00:42So just how important is Cunha? I know there's obviously been echoes of a new contract.
00:47How important would that be for Wolves as well to make sure he is their player?
00:52You know, especially come January. But then, you know, 100% they need to make sure they keep him across that summer campaign window.
00:59He's absolutely vital and not just for the vast goals and assists he's contributing at a time when Wolves can't seem to score any goals whatsoever,
01:08especially at the start of the season. He is the man who steps up every week, it seems.
01:12And even when Wolves are losing games, he is often the most impressive old goal player on the field.
01:19He was drifting wide a bit at the start of his Wolves career or playing a little bit further forward in the striker role.
01:24And you're right, Gary O'Neill has made such an impact, bringing him a little bit deeper into that 10 role or the false 9, depending on the formation.
01:31It doesn't seem to matter if it's a back 3 or a back 4 or back 5.
01:34Cunha just occupies that space just behind the striker, picks up the ball, always has such great awareness of what's going on around him.
01:40Even when there's players pressing, he can get away from them, plays one-twos, takes a flick around the player.
01:46He's got so much skill, so much competence on the ball and his finishing ability as well, as we've seen, has been so, so impressive.
01:53The dribbling, as well, we saw away at Nottingham Forest last season.
01:56That goal coming from his own half, running down all the way down the left and then somehow getting in at the near post.
02:02And then his performance away at Fulham was just sensational.
02:05Two goals and an assist in that match and a 4-1 victory.
02:08Before that game, Wolves had had their first win against Southampton.
02:13Before that, they hadn't had any wins at all.
02:15So it was a huge lift and so, so important was Cunha's impact on that game directly.
02:20But just his overall play, the way he makes his teammates feel a bit more confident.
02:24You need that kind of star player who can change games on his own at times as well.
02:29If the team isn't quite functioning as it should, if they're not quite linking up as they should, someone like Cunha can step up and make a difference.
02:36He's been so, so important for Wolves.
02:38And just how important is it that he is kept by Wolves in the windows?
02:42I'm sure he'll be, you know, attracting some attention from some bigger sites now he's finally getting applauded for his performances.
02:49He absolutely will. And there have been huge clubs linked across the Premier League and talks for new contracts are very important.
02:56They need to get increased terms for Cunha to keep him at the club for many years to come.
