00:00John, the Detroit Lions were able to snap a seven game losing streak on Thanksgiving
00:04and defeat the Chicago Bears 23 to 20.
00:07What was your impressions of the game?
00:08Yeah, it was real good for the Detroit Lions.
00:11You could tell throughout the week of preparation, Christian, that the Lions were definitely
00:16focused on ending that losing streak.
00:19You know, players are definitely competitive.
00:22Head coach Dan Campbell really indicated that even though, you know, family's around, it's
00:27a festive environment.
00:29Losing seven games on Thanksgiving really didn't sit well with the players.
00:32Across the board, from Aminrah St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Frank Ragnow, Jared Goff,
00:38everybody speaking about the game talked about the importance and really wanting to have
00:42that lasting memory of being able to celebrate with the television reporters and everybody
00:47that, you know, brings out the turkey.
00:50You saw the great photo after the game of Jared Goff and Aminrah St. Brown, Jameer Gibbs
00:55and David Montgomery all around the turkey.
00:57It was a real competitive game.
01:00And for the Detroit Lions, they had to hold on.
01:02It was a great first half defensively.
01:04But in the second half, the Bears made the adjustment and were able to score three touchdowns.
01:10But in the end, what has kind of become something that has kind of really bitten the Chicago
01:15Bears has been their kind of in-game management, clock management.
01:20And unfortunately for Matt Eberfloos, the mistake that he made not calling the time
01:25out at the end of the game down three with the Bears driving eventually was going to
01:29cost him his job because the Bears really had a chance with the momentum that they had
01:35that they had built with those touchdowns.
01:37And with the Lions suffering so many injuries, the Bears really had a chance to march down
01:42the field and at least tie the game, get it to overtime or for the go ahead touchdown.
01:47But for the Detroit Lions, they were able to hold on.
01:50And for this football team, that's been their mantra.
01:53No matter if it's a blowout win or an ugly win, the Lions don't make excuses for winning
01:57football games.
01:58They advanced to 11 and 1, 10 straight wins, and they're able to celebrate with their families
02:03on a happy note for Thanksgiving.
02:06Lots to be thankful for for this Detroit Lions football team.
