00:00Let's find out what the weather is like in PTV's news report. Live, Denise!

00:09Now, it's raining in different parts of the country, but it's not because of the typhoon.

00:14It's because of the three different weather systems.

00:17There's no typhoon yet, but it's already raining on the left and right in some parts of the country

00:23because of the continuous rainfall due to the shear line, intertropical convergence zone, and strong winds.

00:29The shear line is what causes rain in some parts of Region 2, such as Isabela, Quirino, and Aurora.

00:35While the cold wind is what causes rain in some parts of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Region, and Cordillera.

00:43The shear line is the intertropical convergence zone.

00:46So, we have winds coming from the northeast, and we have easterly winds coming from the east.

00:57So, when those two winds collide, they create clouds.

01:02The clouds are the ones that bring the thunderstorms, the rains,

01:06especially in the eastern side of Bicol, Eastern Visayas, and Northeastern Mindanao.

01:19In Sorsogon, the house's roof reached its neck, resulting in the residents fleeing.

01:25In places such as Del Caliego, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes,

01:30the flood was also experienced due to the continuous rain.

01:33That's why residents in low-lying areas need to be careful.

01:37In Sarangani Province, a flood warning was issued,

01:40and the flood hazards were also expected to increase.

01:44In Camarines Norte, 553 families or 1,305 individuals were evacuated

01:52from 11 evacuation centers in the province.

01:55Preparations are still underway for possible flood and landslide hazards.

02:03In the shear line, like what happened the other day,

02:08the thunderstorms last for more than 24 hours over our concerned areas.

02:16So if it lasts for 24 hours or more,

02:22it's overwhelming that the rainwater is overflowing,

02:27and our rivers and urban areas are not able to handle our drainage systems.

02:35That's why it's really flooding.

02:39Meanwhile, the Ilocos Region and the remaining Central Luzon

02:44experienced cloudy skies and isolated light rains like the Northeast Monsoon.

02:49While in some parts of Mindanao,

02:51localised thunderstorms are expected to cause isolated rain showers and possible flash floods.

02:58Severe thunderstorms are also expected in the eastern part of Luzon,

03:03which is a bit hidden from fishermen and sea vehicles.

03:07In the eastern part of Luzon,

03:08thunderstorms can reach 2.1 to 3.4 meters.

03:13That's why the authorities are asking people to be careful.

03:17For those affected areas,

03:19classes are suspended in all public and private schools in Albay,

03:24Camarines Norte,

03:25Castilla in Sor Sugon,

03:27Santa Cruz in Marinduque,

03:29Balete in Aclan,

03:30and Bolhon in Cebu.

03:33From preschool to senior high school,

03:36classes are suspended in all public and private schools in Atimonan,

03:40Quezon,

03:41and Lungson in Sor Sugon,

03:42in Sor Sugon.

03:43As a sign of hope,

03:44it's important to be prepared for all areas.

03:48If the shearline can be sustained,

03:51it will be strong.

03:52In Cagayan Valley and Southern Luzon,

03:55it will rain.
