00:00And talk a little peer-to-peer gaming or daily fantasy.
00:06We know that's been under the gun here in the United States with some
00:09removals from different places.
00:10What's the latest going on in Canada?
00:13Yeah.
00:13So, you know, when first launched, we talked a lot about the gray market,
00:17which it was, there was no black market because it wasn't illegal, but
00:20there was no legal regulated market.
00:23And so DFS operators, including DraftKings and FanDuel just ran their
00:27normal pools.
00:28This isn't DFS 2.0, what have you.
00:31And so once they kind of put it together, the regulations and everything,
00:36there was this, there was a, you know, a stipulation that you had to be
00:39within Ontario's borders.
00:40So DFS operators shut down because they said, well, we're pulling you with
00:45other people.
00:45This is a violation, whatever.
00:48Now, the government has gone to the courts for a decision, you know, they
00:51applied.
00:52They said, hey, we want to be able to let our players play in pools, whether
00:56it's DFS or poker.
00:58In other markets.
00:59And, you know, those hearings were held last week.
01:02It will probably be a couple of weeks, couple months until we know any sort
01:07of outcome.
01:07But it's interesting that it's the government saying, hey, we want our
01:11players to do this, but we need explicit permission to allow them to do
01:15that.
01:16And so we'll see.
01:17And I think it'll be something to consider too when, you know, we know
01:22Alberta's putting together their rules.
01:24It'll be similar.
01:25So they want to play with players in, you know, here in Michigan or the
01:29US, whether it's DFS or poker or what have you.
01:33And yeah, it's just more of Ontario just kind of fine-tuning their
01:36regulations and laws.
01:38They've been doing a lot of that.
01:39Of course, there's that bill that would create a national framework for
01:43sports betting or an online casino ads.
01:46But that seems like it's now getting caught up in the Senate and will
01:49likely not pass, which doesn't really matter because we've heard from
01:54the gaming industry that they're already working on it internally in
01:57Canada to kind of put together a full nationwide thing.
02:01So, yeah, lots going on in Canada and hopefully Ontario residents will
02:06be able to play in DFS pools and online poker if they want to soon.
