00:00I'm saddened every time that a nurse or midwife leaves us here in Tamworth.
00:09I'm really sad when they leave the industry, so I'm pleased that Zoe is keeping a toe in
00:15the water.
00:16It was a really hard decision.
00:17It was not one I took lightly, especially when you do a degree and everything that comes
00:24with that, and then a huge HECS debt, and all the training, it was not a decision that
00:30I made lightly.
00:31But I had to kind of think about what my life was going to look like long-term, and the
00:40government hasn't given us any indication that they're willing to actually pay us fairly
00:46or value us in any way, so that's the decision I ended up making for myself.
00:53And I'm really worried for the future, because Zoe is one, and I fully understand and respect
01:01any nurse or midwife that chooses to leave, but our system is at critical levels now,
01:09so I'd like to know what is Chris Minns going to do about it, because it's actually going
01:15to just get worse.
01:16It's going to get worse for us here in Tamworth, and it's a problem across the state, and I
01:21want to see a vibrant public health system.
01:27We haven't got one.
01:28We're really running on the goodwill of the staff.
