The Seremban Sessions Court has fixed Jan 15 for next mention in the case of a 43-year-old religious teacher facing three counts of physical sexual assault against a child.

Judge Surita Budin made the ruling after DPP Nurul Balkis Zunaidi told the court on Tuesday (Dec 3) that the medical report related to the case was not ready.

00:12Judge Surita Budin set the date after being informed that the related medical report was

00:20Mohammad Hafiz Eshak had claimed trial to three charges on September 18.
00:25He allegedly committed the offences against the girl in March, June and August this year
00:29at a house and a religious centre in Port Dixon.
00:33The girl was 13 years and nine months old when the first offence was allegedly committed.
00:38The accused, who was the chairman of the religious centre, was charged under section 14 subsection
00:43A of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which provides for a maximum jail
00:50term of 20 years and caning upon conviction.
00:54Mohammad Hafiz is currently out on 12,000 ringgit bail.
00:58The accused was represented by Ardaliza Izmaryanti Shafi, while Hanis Anisha Jamiluddin from
01:04the Legal Aid Department appeared on behalf of the victim as her legal companion.
